🎅Christmas Magic🎅

We cannot believe how many people have got behind our very last minute toy appeal.

Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who either bought from the wishlist or donated items that you had already purchased. This includes the wonderful Terminal One Youth Centre, Hamilton District Foodbank and Juniors Play Cafe Hamilton.

This afternoon, we received even more amazing news. Thanks to Paul at the Blantyre Telegraph and the wonderful Glen Travel, Mr Bee picked up a car full of brand new toys for the appeal. How absolutely fabulous is that?

We'll keep our gift list open until the end of the day as the more gifts we get, the more kids we can support 👇

Blantyre - THANK YOU ❤️🎅
🎅Can you be a secret Santa?🎅

We have accepted probably our biggest challenge yet! A Blantyre organisation is trying to give some Christmas magic to families that are having a tough time in our town and we've said that we will try and help. Well, we'd ask you amazing lot if you can help!

We have compiled a wee 'wish list' in an attempt to bring some smiles to some Blantyre kids. If you are able, we'd be super grateful if you can help buy some toys and things to keep them warm 👇

https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/6YTHNUVM2K9T?ref_=wl_share

We understand that this is a super tough time for so many people, so if you can't help, we totally get that. We've already had kindness shown from Terminal One Youth Centre, Blantyre Soccer Academy and the Hamilton District Foodbank which has gone a long way.

Let's see if we can get some Christmas magic!
🎅Santa Claus came to Town!🎅

Today was a magical one for Bonnie Blantyre.

At 10am, Santa and his helpers set off on a trip around Blantyre, delivering 2000 selection boxes to all our Blantyre primary schools and nurseries. Some 4.5 hours later, the job was done!

We are very grateful to our sponsors, Gavin Watson Printers, Darcey Quigley & Co, Premier Mo's Blantyre, Alison and Steve of Crossbasket Castle, Maureen Chalmers, Peter Jump, Stephen Slessor and Blantyre Community Council. Together, these kind people made so many kids experience some Santa magic today ❤️

We finished off the day handing in almost 100 selection boxes to Terminal One Youth Centre. We have to congratulate them on their successful Christmas appeal. You should see all the fabulous donations from our amazing community ❤️

We've still got a few hundred boxes left. We'll be giving these out over the coming weeks. We're so lucky to live in such a kind community. Blantyre rocks!!!

Here are a few photos of us out and about, doing our thing. Special thanks to Pat and Mary Irwin, Alex 'Muscles' Orr and of course, our Bonnie Blantyre 'Elfies', Grumble and Bonnie - you're wonderful! Oh, and how can we forget Jean and Pauline! Jean stored all the selection boxes again and both the ladies organised them for us! And the fabulous Zander Strachan who transported them for us! ❤️

What a day! ❤️🎅
Thank you to all the Calderglen Thistle parents who donated to the Terminal One Youth Centre appeal this year.

A local youth project will be operating a series of weekend activities throughout the summer holidays after our store's community champion Mary presented them with a £1,500 better starts grant from our charity, the Asda Foundation.

The Blantyre Youth Development Team at Terminal One Youth Centre aims to support, develop, and inspire young people by providing positive and engaging youth work activities, including dance and drama, to help improve the wellbeing of the young people. Mary said: “The group are right on our doorstep, so we see all the great work they do first hand. We have a great relationship with all the leadership team and support them in any way we can. The group do invaluable work in our community.” Project coordinator Joanne from Terminal One said: “This grant will go a long way in providing essential resources required to improve the wellbeing of our children and young people.”

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to The Hoolet's Bar and Restaurant for their very kind donation of £350.00 recently.

Those who are local to the area (and even some who are not!) will have heard of The Hootlet’s Bar and Restaurant in Blantyre.

The owner of the local establishment recently participated in a charity boxing night earlier this year to help raise funds for two local charities - Terminal One and The Haven – splitting all funds raised, equally, between the two.

Through a Just Giving page, local people were able to donate directly, as well as a proportion of ticket sales being contributed to fundraising donations. The event was held at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow and was a huge success.

The funds will help The Haven continue to offer valuable and much needed support to the local community, including emotional and practical support to individuals, carers, families and friends to help them cope with the physical, mental and impact of illness and bereavement.

Our Business Support Manager, June Torley, met up with owner, Mark (Mick) Flynn, this week to accept a cheque of £350.

Mick said, “thanks to my family, my friends, the wonderful Hoolet's team, people of Blantyre & beyond who supported, donated via Just Giving & everyone who attended the show”.

A special thanks also goes to Priestfield Boxing, SK Boxing Promotions, Kynoch Boxing Gym for all of their support.

Thank you to The Hootlet’s, everyone who attended the match and to all of those who donated!

If you would like to find out more about the support we can offer, please call us on 01555 811846, email: [email protected] or visit: www.thehavencentre.com.

congratulations to Leigh Barr on winning her Provost Award, she is a member of Blantyre Youth Development Team, volunteering her time to plan and deliver youth work activities.
She was nominated by Councillor Maureen Chalmers.
Thank you for your generosity !

You have truly made a child’s Christmas. We had an AMAZING response to our Christmas Toy Drive, with coming together to support our local communities .

This was an amazing effort from everyone involved, we couldn’t be prouder. It broke our heart to see that all some kids want for xmas is their own hair brush, a pair of pj’s or a football.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone involved – you are the reason a kid is going to wake up on Christmas with a smile this year.

On behalf of Ascensos we are so proud to support Terminal One, Isle of Wight Radio and HaiSaAjutam.ro

Dropped off the donations to Terminal One for their Christmas appeal after training tonight. A massive thank you to everyone who donated from all the Calderglen thistle coaches.

Lanarkshire kids youth club launch free Tea and Tumble service

Thanks to Leona at the Hamilton Advertiser for putting in an article about our Tea & Tumble.

The Blantyre Youth Development Team (BYDT) carried out a consultation with parents and the local community regarding a community laundry.

The BYDT's main findings were people were looking for someone to dry their laundry only rather than wash. They were happy just to do a normal wash at home. The community's main concern was as it's getting darker and colder it's not viable to hang out their washing as usual and also their other main concern about the cost of turning on their heating to dry their laundry.

Tea & Tumble offers the community that opportunity to get their laundry dry and ready for the next day without any of the expense.

Our young people are on hand and the community are more than welcome to stay and have a cuppa or come back and collect when done. For more information call us on 01698 829455.

TERMINAL ONE HELPS SANTA THIS CHRISTMAS!!! 🎄🎅🤶🎁🦌🎀📧💻📱

We know that Santa is a very busy man in December and sometimes doesn't have time to deliver as many gifts to some children as he does to others. 🎅 Santa was so impressed with the wee helping hand we gave him last year that he asked us to do it all once again. 😊 So, we have asked many of our young people from Blantyre/Burnbank and Hillhouse, for small gift requests to add to their Terminal One Christmas Wish List.

🎅To help Santa please follow these steps:
