What is Cadder Messy Play?

We’ve had a few new people enquiring and asking what Cadder Messy Play is so I thought I would show you all this little video that we took before one of our mornings of fun and explain a little bit about what we get up to 😀

In this video the theme was Story Time 📚 and we had lots of popular stories for children to explore in our trays. It’s always a popular theme with children and the adults 🙈

We run Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time from 10.30-11.30 in Cadder South Hall, Kirkintilloch Road (opposite the library just by the lights). We have a car park which is available to hall users. Our main entrance has a couple of steps up but we do have easy access at the side that you can enter by ringing the bell 🛎️.

Each week we have a different theme. We have 4 messy play trays, one crafty tray, water play, playdough with themed mats, chalk board table and we also have a quieter non messy area with Lego, jigsaw puzzles, books etc. we have hand washing bowls out within the hall for easy hand (and sometimes full body!!) washing in between trays. We do recommend that old clothes/clothes you don’t mind getting messy should be worn and towel and change of clothes is always a good idea as sometimes children do get very messy and some of the mess can cause stains 🙈

We have toilets just off the hall easily accessible for little ones. Within the hall there is plenty of room to bring a pram in if required. We also have our coffee shop which is opened on a Tuesday and Thursday from 10-2 where you can get a coffee/tea/juice alongside a freshly baked scone or homemade pancakes and cakes or lunch before or after the session. (It’s also opened Wednesday 10-2 and Fridays 10-12!)
