Today we are raising funds as part of Red Nose Day. However, the funds are being used to purchase baby milk and nappies for our local food bank.
Building a secure foundation from the earliest of years. A child joins us from just 12 months old as an eager explorer and leaves a decade later with the same enthusiasm for exploring the world. The key difference is they now have the confidence to make an impact, having been part of a nurturing environment made just for them, building bonds and skills tailored for their individual needs. Our pupils are the most confident young people because they know we’re always here for them, just like family.
If preparation is key, potential is the lock on the door of success. Our pupils are prepared with a unique key of particular planning which they use to unlock their potential in any challenge. Our commitment to them is to craft the right key and instil the confidence to use it throughout their lifetime.
Individually focussed attention. It’s all in the details. We know what makes every pupil tick through rigorous world class assessments that present highly accurate and individual data. With such detailed preparation, planning for every individual pupil is achieved without compromise.
With our inclusive 11+ Pathways programme embedded within our curriculum, Rosslyn School pupils are assessed and individually prepared to achieve high levels of performance.
Our pupils have a sense of belonging that stems from them having roots in the School from the moment they were able to walk in Nursery. Those roots provide a solid foundation for the School to instil academic and personal excellence. Preparation for life through an extensive enrichment programme and preparation for academic success through our exclusive 11+ pathways go hand in hand to establish complete individuals.
From Nursery to Pre-School and beyond, our children learn to walk, talk and ride their way through daily challenges. Every individual journey is conquered with a smile.
Explore your genius, knowing that when you find it, we’ll bring out the very best in you. That’s what drives us, giving your child the space to explore their strengths and building a primary education that’s bespoke to them. Asalaamu Alaikum,

For any parents of children aged 6-13 and residing in or around Hall Green.

After a number of requests, we are now looking to establish a Sunday School for children aged 6-13 years. Before we put together a curriculum we'd like to ask for input and feedback on our proposal as follows:

Focus to be on Qur'an & Tajweed, Islamic Studies (Salah, Dua & character development) & Arabic (speaking, listening & writing)

Every Sunday from 10 am to 1 pm, term time

Although not required but seems to be missing from other such services, we would follow full school regulations in respect of policies & procedures, covering staffing & general running of the school

We would appreciate any input or feedback for consideration before we begin to shape our policies. Please comment below for anything you would like to see covered under our curriculum.

Baraka Allahu Feek.

Islamic Curriculum – Rosslyn School Birmingham 08/03/2023

This week we made history. For the first time in 96 years our pupils read from The Holy Qur'an as part of our Qur'an & Tajweed classes. Today marks the start of our Islamic Values lessons, teaching pupils about the importance of their character within the immediate and wider society.

We have entered a new chapter in the history books of Rosslyn School and move into the future as Birmingham's first Independent Islamic Preparatory School.

In the short space of just one week, our pupils raised a massive £167.50p and gathered a box full of essential hygiene items for the victims of the earthquake in Syria & Turkiye. Thank you to everyone that donated generously.

Our Islamic Studies classes use the Ghazali Children's Project syllabus. A wonderfully balanced and child friendly curriculum that seeks to educate children spiritually & transform their characters by showing the inner spiritually transformative meaning behind the outer aspects of Islam.

Take a look at the results of a recent assessment we carried out on a pupil to determine their chances of success at the 11+ exam this year. For context, the average SAS score is 100; NPR of 95 puts the pupil in the top 5% at national level and a score for ST between 4 & 6 is average. The yellow section indicates the average performance band.

Our pupil here achieved an average of 119 for the SAS, an above average in all four areas (one being in the top 5% & one just a point behind) and an above average score in verbal, non-verbal & quantitative abilities. The pupil is above average in all assessed areas and will continue to develop from here thanks to the recommendations for progress by the assessment. This puts the pupil in prime position to achieve success in the 11+ later this year.

As schools ready themselves for strike action, rest assured we'll be here for our pupils and their families to ensure their education continues and their welfare upheld. We've had enough disruption to the education of a generation to last a lifetime, which for some it unfortunately will. Enquire about our full-time and homeschool options to secure your child's education.

28/12/2022

We recently received an email from a pupil of the school in 1960 asking if we have any memorabilia from this period. Yes we do! If you're a former pupil of the school please do get in touch. We would love to hear from you and even organise a tour with a talk to some of our current pupils so they can learn from your wisdom.
Rosslyn School was first established in 1927 & lovingly restored in 2020 to include a Day Nursery for children to join the family from the age of just 12 months. Children can now spend a whole decade in an exclusive environment that is small enough to care about their individual needs and big enough to help them explore the world.

Our powerful assessments are scientifically engineered to ascertain data in areas of strength and those needing more attention. We then use this highly specific information to drive progress that exceeds the expected standards for our pupils. The result? A child that performs well above the national average in all cognitive abilities, leading to a successful 11+ score and an offer to some of the best grammar schools in the West Midlands. Secure a place at Birmingham's smallest and most attentive preparatory school for your child and let us help to explore their genius - https://rosslynschool.co.uk/preparatory-school/

At Rosslyn we move with the times by making full use of technology to achieve maximum performance. From scientifically engineered assessments to homework portals and parent communication, we’re well equipped for tomorrow. Our pupils learn how to integrate technological tools into their lives from an early age but more importantly, they know when to switch off and disconnect.

What makes our school the best environment for your child?

Well, we're well known for having the smallest classes within Birmingham, nobody gives a closer individual educational experience.

We now have a concentrated core curriculum to double down on Maths, English & Science, tested termly using cognitively engineered assessments to ensure every child makes progress above the national average.

11+ preparation starts early - assessment and technique is developed from Key Stage 1.

We cover all other subjects through topic based assignments with STEM & Enterprise foundations.
We offer Arabic as a Modern Foreign Language (the second most spoken language in the world).

We offer Montessori inspired enrichment projects that pupils can join dependent on interest, allowing them to develop real life competencies.

Our classes are split into Key Stages, allowing pupils to solidify their knowledge further before moving up, with the opportunity to progress quicker if they are able to.

Last but by no means least, we do all this from within a nurturing environment that encompasses the power of faith.

With a maximum of just 36 pupils in our unique and exclusive school, enquire now to see how we can take your child to the edge of their full potential and beyond.

We're introducing enrichment projects to our curriculum!
These are a hybrid of all subjects that will culminate into a group product every term. Pupils have a number of options to choose from according to interest and will have the opportunity to apply knowledge from regular lessons to the real world. For one afternoon a week our pupils get to take their learning beyond the classroom, building a mixture of academic, social and critical skills along the way. Just one of the many unique qualities of Rosslyn School.

Teaching independence from a young age is vital to ensure every child has the confidence to explore the world around them. Show them the brush and let them create. To the untrained eye this is a child eating a sandwich. What we see is the look of satisfaction from a child that has brought an idea to life. To find out how to register your child for free in our Day Nursery you can call or send us a message. Free places are subject to eligibility & availability.

22/08/2022

For any year round bookings of three full days or more in our nursery or pre-school registered in September, we'll give you a free week. Actually... have two on us! Taking in children from 11 months upwards. Hurry, places are limited so it's first come first served.

Read. One simple word that acts as a gateway to anything from information about the world to the depths of an author’s imagination. Our pupils have an average reading age three years above their national counterparts, developed through a love of reading and measured by analytical assessment. Read. One simple word with so much power around it.

20/06/2022

We've just dropped our fees for funded only places as of September 2022. You can now access your funding grant in our state of the art pre-school for your 3 & 4 year old for absolutely no charge at all!

With the rising cost of living hitting hard working families, we'd like to do our bit to ensure you can still access high quality childcare whilst you carry on with work at no extra cost. Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For further details or to register in advance of the new term please contact the office on 0121 744 2743 or send us an email to [email protected]

Keeping the wheels of a child’s mind turning in order for them to get to where they need to be. Our pupils aren’t afraid to veer off the path to explore because when they look back, they know we’ve got them. This is how you create confidence.

The world is moving towards a new age of technological advancement. The generations of tomorrow and beyond need to be equipped with a creative and adaptable mindset in order to contribute to a new age. Our pupils have exposure to the latest technology as well as advanced coding classes from Reception upwards. Our pupils are gaining confidence and embracing technology to put themselves at the forefront of new and emerging industries, poised to capture opportunities as soon as they arise.

A happy child is a productive child and at Rosslyn School & Day Nursery, this is our primary aim. From 12 months to 11 years of age, our pupils not only create secure bonds with our practitioners and teachers, they also form a lifetime of friendship with their peers. Our older pupils are taught to care for their younger school members and the younger pupils are able to explore freely knowing their older counterparts are there to catch them. We create generations of confident young people, ready to take on the world.
