❤️ 1 Red dressed for success and dreamed big today! From doctors to astronauts, our future leaders showed off their ambitions in style. What an incredible “ ” day! 🚀

Our Nursery PM children had so much fun dressing up for We Are Ambitious Day! 👩‍🚀👮‍♀️👩‍🏫👨‍🍳 From astronauts to artists, doctors to dancers — the imagination and big dreams were shining today ✨.

It’s never too early to dream about the future, and we loved seeing all the creativity and ambition in the room! 🌟

What an incredible We Are Ambitious Day in Year 2 Blue! 🎉

We had future teachers, soldiers, accountants, astronauts, pharmacists, police officers, footballers, nurses and even YouTubers in the room — and a special visit from Mrs Hermon, the journalist, who quizzed us all about our big career dreams! 🌟

We would like to extend a massive thank you to everyone for their creativity, enthusiasm, and the amazing range of careers shared today — the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing with ambition!

As a Summerhill community, we’ve truly inspired our children to dream big and aim high. 🚀✨

Reception Green have had an inspirational week exploring different careers they might want in the future!

The highlight of the week was a visit from a veterinary nurse, who spoke to the children about her job and how she helps animals. The children were fascinated and asked lots of thoughtful questions!

They also participated in a road safety lesson, where they practiced how to cross the road safely — an important life skill.

The week concluded with a fun and imaginative "Dress Up as Your Future Career" Day, where children came dressed as vets, doctors, astronauts, artists, and more. It was wonderful to see their aspirations come to life!

Year 6 'Bushcraft' started this week, and on 'National Den Day', so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to use our shelter-building and teamwork skills to build our dens! Great start to the half term 🌳

📣 REMINDER FOR PARENTS — Career Dress-Up Day this Friday! 📣

As part of We Are Ambitious Week, this Friday children are invited to come dressed as their chosen career! 👩‍🚀👮‍♀️👩‍🍳🧑‍🔬

With the warm weather, children are welcome to bring their outfits in a bag and get changed at school. We’ll make sure to capture some great class photos of everyone in their career outfits! 📸

On Monday, Year 4 were amazed by our fantastic visitors — Laura, a biomedical scientist, and Abi, an account executive in Google Cloud Business.
Meanwhile, Years 1 & 2 were so excited to meet our Police Interceptors — Sgt. Edge and PC Beddoe! 🚓 In fact, Mr Bradley was so inspired he was even considering a new career as PC Bradley! 👮‍♂️😁

Thursday was animal-crazy for We Are Ambitious Week! 🐾
Reception were thrilled to meet Izzi, a Veterinary Nurse, who shared all about her amazing job caring for animals big and small. The children were full of questions and absolutely loved learning about life as a vet nurse! 🐶🐱🩺

Tuesday was another incredible day for We Are Ambitious Week! 🌟
Year 5 took part in our exciting Careers Fair, and what an amazing range of visitors they met!
From Diamond Buses to Keltruck Ltd and Taylor Woodrow, the children explored careers in transport, engineering and construction 🚍🔧🏗️.
They were also inspired by some truly passionate professionals, including Steph, a dedicated mental health nurse, Kayleigh, a caring general nurse, Iain, a creative landscape gardener, and Trisha, an amazing Rotational Clinical Pharmacist who wowed the children with her knowledge of medicine and healthcare! 💊🧠🌿
A huge thank you to all our visitors — the children came away buzzing with ideas for the future! 🙌

🚦 Road Safety Fun in Reception Red! 🚸
Today Reception Red had a fantastic time at our Road Safety Workshop! We started by learning all about how to cross the road safely – using the magic words: STOP, LOOK, LISTEN and THINK. The children loved singing the catchy road safety song – ask them to sing it for you at home! Then, we put our learning into action and had a go at crossing a pretend road with lots of care and confidence. Well done, Reception Red – you're becoming road safety superstars!

This week, we are looking forward to;

👮‍♀️👷‍♀️👨‍🍳👨‍🚒We are Ambitious week! This includes the Careers Fair. What will our Summerhill pupils become? The answer is, whatever they believe they can be!
📖 Reading Ambassadors will visit Bloomfield Court.
🚦 Reception and Year 6 have exciting and informative Road Safety Workshops
☀️ Year 3 and Year 4 have a special Father's Day Create and Connect session.

Reception Green spent a wonderful time in the forest, enjoying the sunshine, using their imaginations, and engaging their gross motor skills. The outdoor experience was a refreshing break that recharged their minds. Back in the classroom, they channelled their inspiration into producing some truly lovely writing!
