It's Mental Health Awareness Week and we're teaming up with BBC Children in Need to support the incredible work they do.

Together with Pudsey, we're encouraging everybody to 'be all ears' for the children in their life. We know that positive relationships with important people in children’s lives – whether that’s parents, teachers or nursery teams - can really help to ease the burdens that they carry and in turn protect their mental health.

This week, our centre is buzzing with joy as we take part in lots of fun activities, including our Giggle-A-Thon, where laughter truly becomes the best medicine! 😄🎉

We’ll be raising funds to support children’s mental health across the UK, and you can help too! 💛 Every little bit makes a big difference! 🙌

As our celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week come to a close, we are excited to share another success story from Busy Bees.

Meet Chloe Russell! 🐝❤️

Chloe began her journey at Busy Bees Chelmsford in October 2014 as an apprentice. After completing her apprenticeship, she went on to earn both her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, before stepping into a leadership role as Centre Director.

Chloe said: "No two days are ever the same and that’s what I love the most about my job. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness the growth and development of all the children in my care as they progress through their nursery journey. I would highly recommend apprenticeships to young people. They offer a fantastic opportunity to gain real-world experience whilst earning and learning at the same time."

We are incredibly proud of Chloe's journey and progression with Busy Bees. 👏

It's National Apprenticeship Week! 🤓💛

To celebrate, we're shining a light on our apprentices and sharing their stories of their Busy Bees journey. Today, meet Ellie, who joined our Rainham nursery in August 2022 and has since completed her Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.

Ellie says: “I have always had an interest in working with children so this apprenticeship felt like the perfect way to kick start my career in early years education."

“The apprenticeship was a great fit for me as it allowed me to gain a qualification whilst ‘learning on the job’. The course has expanded my knowledge of the sector and I am excited to grow my career with Busy Bees, knowing there are lots of opportunities in the future.”

Busy Bees Glasgow Lenzie has officially opened its doors! 🥳

Yesterday, we celebrated Lenzie's official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. We were honoured to welcome Maree Todd, the Minister for Social Care, Mental Wellbeing, and Sport of Scotland, who officially inaugurated our nursery.

Nicole Smith, the Centre Director for Busy Bees Lenzie, said, “I have been part of Busy Bees for 10 years now and the Lenzie nursery opening is a personal highlight. Not only is it our first new-build nursery in Scotland but it is also paving the way for the future of early years education, allowing us to provide high-quality care in a beautiful and nurturing environment for children.”

We’re thrilled to share that in 2024, Our Busy Bees centres raised a total of £37,150 for ! 🎉👏

So, how will this money make a difference?

💛 It helps CBUK answer 1,031 calls to our helpline, ready to support those in need.

❤️ It funds a wonderful support program for about 48 families (that’s 8 sessions of care and help!).

💛 It keeps their entire Support & Information service running, including the freephone helpline - a true lifeline for families who are navigating the tough times after losing someone special.

❤️ It allows CBUK to host five fun activity days for up to 10 young people.

💛 It provides 379 support sessions for bereaved children and their families as they work to rebuild their lives after such a heartbreaking loss.

A big thank you to all our fantastic team members and parents for your continued support and generosity in raising this incredible amount! 💖

Did you know that Busy Bees is the only independently evaluated early years curriculum in the UK? 🐝

Last year, we launched a new curriculum called Bee Curious, which we rolled out across our UK centres in September 2024.

Our curriculum was recently evaluated by The Open University and here are some key points from their assessment...

✔️ It goes beyond the government's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

✔️ Its principles are based on scientific research.

✔️ It is fully adaptable to each unique child.

We are extremely proud of this evaluation from The Open University and would like to thank our fantastic team for their efforts in delivering this curriculum. 🎉
