Dr Deb

Physics Tuition I offer private physics tuition at all levels taught in Scottish secondary schools, from Standard Grade to Advanced Higher.

I have a PhD in Stellar Physics and an MSci in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Glasgow. My early career was with the UK Research Councils and UK Space Agency. I have been involved in science outreach and communication for over a decade and am passionate about sharing my love of physics. For more details please get in touch and visit my website:

Sending very best wishes to everyone sitting a physics exam tomorrow. May the mass*acceleration be with you!

All the best to everyone sitting a maths exam tomorrow.

University of Glasgow

For the first time (100 years after Einstein's prediction) LIGO Scientific Collaboration has observed ripples in spacetime called gravitational waves. These waves were produced by the collision of two black holes, which had been predicted but never observed, until now!

The University of Glasgow played a key role in this historic first detection with researchers working for decades to support the worldwide effort to detect gravitational waves. This confirms a major prediction of Albert Einstein's 1915 general theory of relativity and opens a new window onto the cosmos.

We're truly astounded by this discovery and the amazing minds behind it!

So exciting! Can't wait to wave to Tim on the ISS this evening!

Unfortunately I have no free spaces for tutorials at the moment but feel free to get in touch if you are looking for a science or maths tutor because I may be able to refer you to someone.

National Space Centre

The John Lewis advert is one of the signs we are fast approaching Christmas, and every year they try and tell a story which will capture our hearts.

This year's caught our attention as the advert features a little girl with a telescope, trying to send a present to the man on the Moon.

So we though we would offer some advice to the little girl in our latest Space Now! blog: http://www.spacecentre.co.uk/space-now/521-man-on-the-moon
