Childcare Team Leader (Senior Practitioner) : Up to 35hrs - £18,200 pro rata.

The successful candidate will be expected:
-To effectively deliver pre birth to 3 year/CfE ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members)
-To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child's life.
-Lead and support all staff and engage in a good staff team
-To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical histories
-To work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting's philosophy is fulfilled
-To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times, both in work hours and outside
-To support and mentor childcare assistants, students and volunteers
-To undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as SSSC etc, lead your own CPD ensuring that the relevant paperwork is fully up-to-date at all times

Harry was recruited as an Employability Funded trainee where he completed 1 week training in Team building, Health & safety, Skills audit, catching confidence and CV prep/ application support and 1 week Social Services & Health Care training in Basic first aid, Theory of moving and position, Rehis, and Person centred care. He was placed in a local nursing home on a six week placement and secured a full time position there. That was 3 years ago.
Harry returned to do Modern Apprentice to be supported through his SVQ level 2 in Social Services and Health Care, which he has completed and he has moved onto the SVQ level 3.
Harry says “Initially the main reason I applied was to gain access to a Nursing career but after a brief period of time I realised I could make a huge difference in people’s lives as a care worker. People always seem shocked when I tell them I am a care worker, but it has been the best decision of my life and is so rewarding. I was the only male care worker on night shift when I started in my workplace but I have seen this increase in the 3 years I have been there. 8 male care workers now work nightshift, there are more working during the day.”

ASPIRE2ACCESS - CHILDCARE MANAGER
£27,746 - 35 Hours (reduced hours may be available)

You will manage a busy and flexible Early Year's Day Care of Children service ensuring the provision of fully inclusive early learning and childcare in line with Regulation & Legislation. You will directly manage the Childcare Staff and Assistants, ensuring that they are supported in their development and welfare.

Possession of or working towards a Degree level qualification within Education, Childcare or Social Work Equivalent, to meet the criteria to register with the SSSC/Care Inspectorate as a Manager of a Day Care for Children Service. This post is subject to references and completion of a PVG disclosure check.

Develop your Digital Skills.
Aspire2Access, Ayr (formerly Access To Employment) can now offer the new British Computing Society (BCS) Digital Skills course for those who wish to learn basic computer skills. The course consists of 7 Units: Computer Basics, Computer and Online Basics, Social Networking, Digital Media, Digital Photography, Audio and Video Software. This course is eligible for the new Individual Training Account (ITA) so if you are interested in developing your digital skills to gain employment or get more out of your digital devices please give June/Kevin a call on: 01292 270 862 or email: [email protected] or [email protected] for full details.
