We are delighted to be taking part in the National Learn to Play Day on Saturday 8th October 2022 at High Wycombe Music Centre HP12 4BA.
We are holding a MusiKids session for younger students aged between 4-8 years old between 9.30-10.30am. This will be a group session where they will be able to play lots of instruments and have fun learning about pulse, rhythm as well as singing together.
Between 11-12.30pm we are holding 'have a go' sessions. This will be where any students can have a go on the instrument of their choice with the expertise of a specialist music teacher to guide them. We are going to have lots of instruments available to try along with details of how to apply for lessons if they wish.

This year’s BMT Primary Music Conference went down a storm at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. The range of workshops and speakers included Kate Lynch, Rosie Axon and Adam Saunders amongst others with a focus on bringing together music leads and coordinators from across the county.

Here are some impressions of Sunday’s BMT Summer Festival. A fantastic day was had by all and the weather held up for a glorious day of live music, workshops, food and the obligatory ice cream. A heartfelt thanks goes out to all that came and supported our 600 youngsters perform across two stages, and of course to all of the hardworking BMT staff without whom none of this would be possible. We’re very excited to announce this year’s Bucks Music Summer Festival on Sun 3rd July
Around 600 young musicians from our music centres in Aylesbury, Amersham and High Wycombe will be performing across 2 stages with groups, ensembles, bands and choirs of all different types.
There’ll be live music from 12:30 till 6:30pm, an amazing opportunity to join us for the Big Sing at 2:30pm as well as the Crash Bang Wallop music workshop for children under 10 at 4pm.

Bucks Youth Jazz Collective brings together the most exciting young improvisors in Buckinghamshire. As well as playing together and rehearsing, they study harmony, rhythm, and band-leading skills. In this, their debut performance, they will be playing some jazz standards, tunes by contemporary masters, and original compositions. A performance not to be missed.

County Youth Orchestra, Youth Wind Ensemble and County Youth Choir will share their work this year. The repertoire displays wonderful range, depth and virtuosity, under the leadership of our three musical directors, Tom Horn, Ed Pitt Mansfield and Ed Hodgson. The concert will also feature 2021's Bucks Young Musician of the Year winner, Lucy Howitt, performing Handel's Concerto for Harp, accompanied by selected players from BCYO.

What a fantastic day at the Albert Hall last week! It felt great to be back and Echoes 9 was an incredible experience, featuring over 1200 primary school singers from 40 schools across Buckinghamshire. We are so very proud of our young musicians, the incredible stage team and the BMT staff orchestra. Well done everybody, let’s look forward to many more amazing musical events in 2022.

After many years of outstanding service to BMT and AYMC, Lynda Lown has decided to retire from her role as Front of House and Business Support. We thank her wholeheartedly for her professionalism and commitment that she has always shown in supporting the music centre, the Area Leaders and BMT and wish her well for the future.
We are looking for a replacement for this role and would welcome suitably qualified applicants with a demonstrable commitment to supporting musical learning.
