Ashfold Crystal Ball

Just in case you missed this info via Parent Mail:

We are delighted to announce that the Ashfold Crystal Ball 2014 raised a whopping £33,500, which hugely exceeded our expectations. Yippee!!!

We have to say a huge thanks to all of the people who supported the event from the guests, the sponsors, the advertisers, to the countless companies and individuals that donated prizes and gave us discounts on services provided.

The funds will be split between The Children’s Brain Tumour Foundation and the Art & Technology Building. This is a huge amount for the charity, and the money donated to the school will almost fully kit out the home economics classrooms in the new building.

One notice for people who may not have attended the ball to explain the new reserved parking space at school. At the Ashfold Ball, we auctioned off the first space nearest clock court as a reserved space for the next two academic years. A couple of families generously bid for and won the space and we kindly ask that you respect its reserved status and avoid parking in it. It is clearly marked and has registration plates to show the cars permitted to park there.

From the Ashfold Ball Committee

Thanks to all who attended the Ashfold Crystal Ball on Saturday evening for helping make it such a fabulous evening. As a committee, we were delighted with how the evening went. It really felt like all of our hard work paid off. Thanks also to all of our helpers including our flower fairies, setup helpers and helpers on the night – we couldn’t have done it without you all.

We were blessed with the weather, so the evening started on the right note with everyone enjoying their Champagne and Martinis in the sunshine in the beautiful setting of the school grounds. After we eventually persuaded everyone to take their seats in the bright, airy, and stylish marquee, Cavendish Events did us proud by delivering our chosen menu to an extraordinarily high standard with efficient and polite waiting staff. The auctioneer made the auction fun and an extremely successful fundraiser. Then, on came Fake Tan, and filled the dance floor with feel good 80s music delivered with such enthusiasm and fun. Meanwhile, our inspired hit of the night ‘The Ashfold Arms’ opened as a retreat for those less keen on dancing! And we haven’t even mentioned the London Cab photo booth, the silent auction, raffle, casino and DJ who played past 3am!!!

Successful Auction Bidders
We will be contacting all of the successful auction bidders to let them know what they have won and more importantly how to pay for it. Prizes and vouchers will be available for collection during drop off this week in the parents’ room. Please pay for your item before collecting it, or bring a cheque with you made payable to ‘Ashfold Parents’ Committee – Ball Account’.

Raffle Winners
We pulled the remaining raffle items on Sunday and the list of the winners of all of the prizes on in recent posts or on the Ashfold website. Congratulations to all of the lucky winners. Again, vouchers will be available for collection during drop off this week from the parents’ room.

We will also have lanterns, cushions and other items available for purchase so feel free to come and take a look – again in the parents’ room.

On a final note, we had a phenomenal evening from a fundraising point of view and will give you more details once we do the final count up, but it is looking like over £30,000. So huge thanks to all who bought ball tickets, raffle tickets, auction lots, Champagne, and drinks on the night as they all contributed to it being an hugely successful fundraiser.

Tickets for the Ashfold Crystal Ball are selling fast with 25 tables reserved so far! There are still tables available so it is not too late to apply for tickets.

If you have already reserved your table, you will soon receive your tickets, a table plan to complete and return, and a form to pre-order wine for the table.
