'Following years of unhealthy living I decided it was time to get into shape, looking around I came across Simply F**T. After making contact I met with James at his fully equipped studio, we discussed what I was looking for and how we could achieve it.

James and I have been talking about food quite a bit lately and how eating well and eating the right foods really does have an affect on you, positively and negatively..

It affects how you feel, in terms of your mood and it does affect how you sleep!!

We love to listen to all sorts of podcasts and audible books to not only keep us up to date but to help ourselves and our son...

Getting kids to eat the 'right' foods can be tough and sometimes it's all about the way you sell it to them!!

Today, we thought we would give you a recipe that you can enjoy and not feel guilty about eating and perhaps introduce into your children's lives....I mean who doesn't like a chocolate ball!!!???

Try this quick recipe out and let us know what you and your kids think?

Simply blend the peanut butter, dates, avocado and the cacao powder into your processor/blender then using the mixture, roll into balls and freeze for a hour, then serve!

Thought I'd give you an update on my personal progress

I made a decision not to enter the body building competition due this month. It's just not the right time. I will never say never...just not right now.

I have been so grateful for the amount of support I have received during my journey and a special mention to my coach Tom and Team Viking for their understanding, motivation and knowledge. I have a new found insight and respect for bodybuilders!

I am still training hard and setting my goals, that will never change, so much so I have decided to train for the '300 workout*' and have two of my clients joining me!

My 50th birthday is only 6 months away and I am determined to be the best I can be, mentally and physically

I will continue to meditate, do my deep breathing and of course take my cold showers!

I'll keep you updated with this progress and if you would like to understand more about the 300 workout - here's what we will be doing:

300 Workout
25 Pull Ups
50 Push Ups
50 Deadlifts
50 box jumps
25 Clean and presses each side
50 Windscreen wipers
25 Pull Ups

Here's a little bit about us...

👋🏼 I’m James, and I’ve had an interest in fitness for almost thirty five years!

It was an infectious habit that rubbed off on everyone around me.

Due to a rare medical condition, In 1999 I lost vision in one eye overnight and vision in the other eye deteriorated over a period of 6 weeks, leaving me totally blind at the age of 26.

‼️ My life changed!

After spending four years adapting to my new lifestyle and getting to grips with being a Guide Dog owner, the one thing that helped me get back on track was a rowing machine, which I bought using the money I’d saved from quitting smoking. My body remembered what to do and how good it felt to exercise again.

I decided to pursue my passion for exercise as a career.

It took time to prove to the qualifying bodies that I could work in the fitness industry as an equal and fully certified personal trainer.

I had an eight year struggle of jumping through hoops and hard work to prove myself to my 23 fellow trainees and nine assessors to become the ‘UK’s first Blind Qualified Fitness/Personal Trainer.’ They quite simply couldn’t fail me.

I also decided to get qualified as a Les Mills RPM™ Instructor!

🤩 I genuinely love helping my clients achieve their body goals! I always ensure they have fun during their session and walk out of my studio gym with a smile on their faces

👋🏼 Hey! I'm Louise, and have been married to James for 12 years. We have a son together.

I have worked in sales and management for over 20 years in the property industry and spent most of that time working in London.

After finding a flexible way to work around my family, I started my own social media management business working for local clients. Covid put an end to that so I flipped it, and became a coach helping Mums grow their own social media management businesses....

However, there was something niggling at me and I knew, deep down that my passion was in health and fitness! 🏋🏻

Since I had already been helping James with Simply F**T in the capacity of a support worker including managing the social media accounts, It made sense for me to join forces and focus all my energies into helping him with his business and to make it more family orientated!

We are lucky that we can work well together!

Let's talk about what training clothes you workout in...

Having the right clothing and footwear is just as important as having the right mindset when it comes to training! I love to feel good before I've even started my workout!

For example, performing a heavy squat or dead-lift in running trainers could be dangerous! They are two soft, unbalanced and could compromise your technique!

Did you even know you can buy different types of trainers?

Wearing the right training clothes can actually have a positive effect on you when you train and put you in the right head space for a awesome session!

If you would like any advice on what to wear and more information about different foot wear, you only have to ask!

I wear Alpha MF (Yes, it's my own clothing range but I feel good in it!) plus Project rock and Under Armour!

Love 'The Rock' or hate him - his clothes are awesome in my opinion and I agree with what he stands for! He built one of his collections for the 'hardest workers in the room' This totally resonates with me!

Will you now take a bit more time choosing the right kit for the right workout?
