Do you love food and creating beautiful food? If you have previous experience of cooking for children then we would love to hear from you as we are looking for a qualified Nursery Cook at our Beech Green Day Nursery in Aylesbury.

The nursery is located on a large green plot of land in the heart of Beech Green, just under half a mile from Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School / Aylesbury College and the Aylesbury Town Centre ring road, and just under a mile from Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Our setting is purpose built with large rooms with lots of natural light and specially created features. Our bright and airy rooms give our children menus and maintaining high levels of cleanliness in all aspects of work. This is a permanent role and offering a competitive basic salary and additional wider benefits, including opportunities for possible future career progression.

Bank Staff – Beech Green
We are currently seeking Level 2 & Level 3 qualified and unqualified Bank Staff to join our team at Beech Green Nursery - flexible hours available.

The Nursery Cook will be responsible for preparing, snacks, lunch and tea for all the children in the nursery. Adhering to agreed menus and maintaining high levels of cleanliness in all aspects of work. Nursery Cook – Qualifications & Experience

Minimum two years’ proven catering experience
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Capable of working under pressure in an organised way
Working in a childcare environment preferable
Knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs, i.e. vegetarian, cultural
Ability to work with children in preparing simple snacks and baking preparation
Ability to work as part of a team
Nursery Cook – Key Responsibilities

In consultation with the Nursery Manager to be responsible for the preparation of weekly menus, catering for all children, in line with the food and drink policy.
Ensure all meal planning and food ordering is in line with the agreed catering budgets.
To ensure that all children with allergies are catered for in compliance with our allergies policy as well as maintaining the allergen file.
To maintain adequate stores and food stuffs in appropriate storage conditions
To ensure the kitchen and kitchen equipment are kept clean and tidy.
To clean and defrost the freezer as necessary.
To observe high standards of food hygiene during the preparation, cooking and serving of all foods.
Maintain the Safer Food, Better Business documentation on a daily basis to comply with food safety management procedures and food hygiene regulations.
To undertake baking activities with children.
To promote healthy eating with children and staff.
To maintain high standards of personal hygiene and personal appearance in accordance with the Company’s hygiene policy.

The Level 3 Nursery Nurse is ideally a full-time, permanent role. This position is offering a competitive basic salary and additional wider benefits, including opportunities for future career progression.

We would love you to join our team as we embark on accreditation to 'The Curiosity Approach', promoting awe and wonder in early childhood. This is a unique style of learning for children to be engaged in the joy of doing rather than the end result.

Level 3 Nursery Nurse – Qualifications & Experience Required

You must hold a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification

Level 3 Nursery Nurse – Key Responsibilities

To work in partnership with parents and carers
Assist in ensuring the nursery provides a safe, happy and stimulating environment for individual children and enables them to meet their full potential.
To observe, plan and evaluate appropriately for children using the EYFS curriculum for prime and specific areas of learning.
Maintain accurate and effective children’s records, using formative and summative assessments.
Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.

2-3's are very interested in different items they can use to make marks.

Children have been digging in the mud looking for snails and worms to put in the "Snail hotel" where they made a safe place for the snails and worms.

"Look, I have a baby snail"🐌

One of the children has recently been on holiday and wanted to make a "Sealife show", so we added water and paint into a tough tray with some water creatures.

The children then splashed the animals in and out of the water as though they were performing in a real sealife show.
