Is the boxing on tonight? I need to know if I'm picking the kids up! Thank you!
It's the end of an era for me after 17 years and 5 of my children attending it's finally time to say goodbye to Waterloo
Are the school taking part in word book day and if so which books are being chosen by class 14 please thank
Is school open 2day.??
Whats the point in ringing up to make a complaint if no one is going get back to you after being told someone will before dinner..😠
Hi can I just ask has anyone ever heard of anything so absolute disgustubg! So my 5yr old daughter has been of school for over a week being very poorly, which obviously I get phone calls asking about Rosie because that's what there quick enough to do and make out like your child is off school for no reason( like us mothers want our children off under our feet when we can have a break) and also telling me that if the kids just have a cough and a cold they ask to bring there child in anyway! My answer was she's really poorly fever cough and how many times I have to explain she suffers really bad with her chest as her lungs are scarred! Anyway I sent her back in for a day and she ended up worse off so again she was off longer ! So today she goes into school with a coldsore as my poor girl is still abit runner down for me to get a phone call THEY ARE VERY CONSEARNED ABOUT ROSIE TODAY WITH HER COMING IN WITH A COLDSORE ! 1 what are they trying to make out 2. It's a coldsore. They then as AM I TREATING IT?? 😐

Right then just now well half past 2 I get a phone call my son is being naughty the teacher doesn't want him in school her words was THERE IS NO POINT IN MY CHILD BEING IN SCHOOL BECAUSE HE IS REFUSING TO WORK AGAIN ....1 are they not trained IF he is being this bad ? 2. I said well what about the time to come and get Rosie afterwards they said I can take my daughter too so now my daughter has to miss out on school time because they can't do there job and doesn't want my son in the school because there is NO POINT there words not mine! I could go in and in and on I am now keeping my children out of that school and finding them another because I think it is an absolute joke there either trying to make the point across that something's wrong at home WHICH IN FACT ITS GREAT AT HOME IN UNLESS MY 3 KIDS ARE KILLING EACH OTHER WHICH IS THE NORM IN MY EYES FOR BROTHER AND SISTERS! OR THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE OUT LIKE IM NOT A VERY GOOD MOTHER AND CANT LOOK AFTER MY KIDS! I will be going to the higher education because I think the power has got to these teachers heads and think there turning into the bullies not the kids! And I think they need to retrain there staff
https://www.evanscycles.com/bike-to-school-poetry-competition .....Maybe something the school would be interested in doing!
Hi , just giving everyone the heads up, there will be no crossing in the morning Monday 17th
I'm absolutely fuming come out of school tonight and no lollipop lady ... I got told by a few parents that she no longer covers Waterloo.... nice for school to inform us all as some parents let there kids walk home on there own and sure if they knew there was no one helping them cross Newmarket rd in all the traffic they wouldn't let um walk home alone.... just hope no one gets hurt.... could we not start a pettistion up and get safety bk for our kids????
I am absolutely shocked that we no longer have a lollipop lady after school some of the parents have said she is no longer covering for our school.... why have we not all been informed about this as some parents let there kids walk home alone and sure they wouldn't be happy about them crossing Newmarket road on there own in the bad traffic at this time.... I'm fuming... would a petition help if we all got one going round???
How long are pupils off please as the term dates online for the school say till 4th june thank you

Free Online Course on Understanding Children’s Mental Health

WHILE the physical symptoms of covid-19 are easy to spot, we know much less about the toll the long pandemic has taken on mental health.

This especially applies to children who have had to spend so much time out of school and away from their friends and regular routine.

To help parents and carers gain a better understanding of the situation, a new online course named “Understanding your Child’s Mental Health and Wellbeing” is now available. Thanks to Tameside Council the borough’s residents can access it for free.

It’s part of the Solihull Approach which the NHS has designed to increase emotional health and well-being through both practitioners and parents.

All you need to do to take part is visit www.inourplace.co.uk and enter the access code: SUNFLOWER.

Once logged in you’ll find lots of other courses for parents, carers and grandparents about children and young people from bump to adulthood.

Cllr Eleanor Wills, Tameside Council’s executive member for population health, commented: “Covid has been a long slog and children have been affected more than anyone. This excellent course will be a great help to parents and carers as we hopefully continue our safe and gradual emergence from the pandemic.

“I hope people will share the news with family-members and friends so that they can take advantage of this fantastic opportunity provided by the council.”

We’ve got a great programme of children’s authors lined up to do live events for Tameside children this summer! There will be chance to hear about what it’s like to be an author, find out about favourite books and ask questions to find out more about their lives.
Having virtual events means that we can hear from authors that live much further away than Tameside, so these sessions will take place on Zoom. Places are free but must be booked online at tamesidelibraries.eventbrite.co.uk

Summer Fair - Thursday 15th July

We are going to hold a Summer Fair for just the children to attend.

We are asking for a £3 donation per child – for this the children will get a go on the stalls which are Hook a duck, Tin Can Alley, Splat the Rat, Hoopla, a turn on the bouncy castle and a snack consisting of a drink, packet of crisps and an ice pop.

Each year group will have time to attend so that we are not mixing bubbles.

Just so you are aware if circumstances change this may lead to us cancelling this event but we will review in line with our risk assessment.

We thank you for your continued support,

We've just received this fascinating message from Waterloo Primary School.

An old teacher from Waterloo in the 80’s has just called asking if I knew anything about a time capsule which was buried on the grounds in approx. 1986 before the new school was built. It was to capture life in the 1980’s, apparently a Mrs Jones who was acting deputy at the time did the activity with her class.
If anyone has any information about this, Waterloo Primary and ourselves would love to hear from you.
