Dear Parents and Carers,
We have received the attached letter from Tameside LA this afternoon. Please read it carefully.
Due to the increased R-rate and risk to staff and children we will no longer be able to open more widely to our Year 6 children as planned until 22nd June at the earliest. This is likely to delay the opening of any further year groups.
As a school we remain committed to providing a rigorous and interesting programme of home learning and as ever we are extremely proud of our staff and school community who have been working so hard to prepare to welcome back some of our children on June 10th. We are heart broken that this virus continues to keep our Canon Burrows family apart. We hope that by staying at home as much as possible we can bring the R-rate to a safe level, so that Canon Burrows staff can return to doing the job they love and are passionate about and the children can return to a happy, safe place of learning.
We appreciate your kindness and support at this challenging and unpredictable time.
We recognise that this will be very emotional for many of the children who, like us, were preparing to come back to school on Wednesday 10th. We will endeavour to be in contact with each family over the coming weeks to provide support, comfort and reassurance.
You are in our thoughts and prayers and we hope that you and your families remain safe and well.
