That's the end of Thomas's last day at Nursery. Sad to see him leaving. You girls have been so great with him and know he's sad. Can't believe how much he has grown over these past few years. He is going to miss his best friend Charlie too.
Thank you to all staff. And we'll be back with Benjamin in January.

Here's a pic from first day to last 😭🥰Xx
I have added Hirst Welfare Nursery to this little competition to win 2 Sunflower growing sets, so please give them your vote would be lovely if they won.

Just thought this would be ideal for the nursery if they got permission from parents. A puddle jumping competition for kids through BBC Breakfast. It ends soon though. Just thought of what you said on Friday Jess 😆😂

With me having permission to upload this video which was done last week cant recommend the lasses enough they have been great with me little fella when he first started and was having little meltdowns bless him and today no tears at all bless him settling in so fast so proud #proudmammymoment
Well, what can I say, this Nursery is absolutely fantastic and I am soo pleased I chose this one for both Hollie and Joshua.

Hollie has been here nearly 3 years, started when she had a dummy, gone through potty training had so many ups and downs but she has finally made a massive improvement and I'm gutted she is leaving!!

She is such a little character and has certainly got some sass which I'm sure all of the staff have seen. She can be the sweetest and most loving little girl and she has loved Nursery from her first visit 😍

You have all been brilliant with her from long term staff to new staff and apprentices, going above and beyond to get her the help she needs whilst also dealing with me being an overbearing overprotective parent 😂😂

But to Kim, Nicole and Jess you are soo amazing at your jobs and have provided Hollie and us with the support and assurance we've needed through the difficult times as well as just being so caring about every child who enters the doors of the Nursery.

I could not be more thankful for the help and support you've given to her and to us, the teaching you've given her and how understanding and patient you have all been.

She has one little day left but I am so grateful to have Joshua still going so she still gets to see you all. He is a completely different kettle of fish so good luck to you all 😂

X###
First off I just want to thank all of the staff at Hirst Welfare Nursery for all of your incredible hard work and dedication. I know it has been a strange time of late but can I just say that you have all help Ed William come along. He's happy, outgoing and not as shy and timid as he was when he started. So for that we truly appreciate it. I know William is going to miss you all.

I know will had made some amazing friends whilst there. Payton, Bryan and Molly and I know he is going to miss you. So to the parents, if you're on here and things start to calm down a bit more I know William would love a playdate at a park if you would like to do it some time. (Sorry if this isn't allowed) Thank you for being his best friends whilst he attended nursery.

We feel sad he missed out on the last few months, but on the plus side he will still get to see the staff whilst Thomas is still going.

Thank you again for everything. He's grown so much. First photo from the first time he came to the summer club before he attended nursery and second photo from today Xx
Can't believe how tall Williams sunflower is.
Thomas made a sun catcher for his grandma Ivy's birthday. First attempt and we are so pleased with it that we are going to make more for all their grandparents and their auntie Joan xx
Today the boys made their milk bottle Elma Elephants. They had lots of fun, especially since they got to decorate them how they wanted 👍☺️ (will be putting the eyes on once they are fully dried)
Alfie showing off his baking skills he learnt at nursery 🥰
3D animal challenge xx

The last few weeks we have been learning about the 'Beach' ⛱🏖

The children have enjoyed exploring their own little rock pools, making ice cream and cold fruity drinks and much much more.

We have talked about how to stay safe on the beach by wearing sun cream and hats when the sun is shining and how to stay safe around the sea. 🏝.

🦀Under The Sea 🐟

This term is all about 'The Seaside'

Last week we have been Learning about " Under The Sea"

We have explored animals that live in the sea via lots of sensory tuff trays, counting and arts and crafts. We have discussed which animals are the largest and which are the smallest, where we might find them and what they eat. We have also talked about how to keep our self safe at the beach and sea. 🦞🦈🦑🐙🐟🐠

[06/14/21]   Polite Reminder to all Parents and Carers

We are aware that there has been a slight rise in positive Covid-19 cases and a rise in those being in contact with a case in the area. Therefore can we politely remind you that if your child is un-well, has a high temperature or a new persistent cough, then please book a Covid-19 test at a testing centre and keep them at home awaiting the results. We understand that it is a difficult time for everyone, however our main priority is to keep the children, staff and all of our families as safe as we possibly can. Thank You

We have a little good news to share...there has been some development with our outdoor area! Annoyingly we have suffered with flooding in the outdoor area every time it rains....we have had a new drainage system built into the ground which should stop this from happening! This now means we can start on the refurbishment of the outdoor area very soon! We are looking for it to be completed by the mid-end of May! Not long now! 👍🏻

This term we are learning about all things ‘In the Garden’ and to provoke the children’s learning we have some Caterpillars in nursery!Look at how much they have grown in just a week! The children have been very interested in watching them grow into ‘big fat caterpillars’ and can’t wait until they become butterflies! 🐛 🦋

Last week we were learning all about 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'!

The children enjoyed using a range of materials to make lots of bridges that they could walk across, they also made different bridges that the Goats could walk over. There was lots of teamwork, balancing, listening and talking about our emotions last week. Some of the Goats managed to get frozen in some ice and the chidden had to save them . 🌉❄️

The children also enjoyed exploring colour matching, textures and counting with our Easter activities. 🐣
