Summer holiday's almost over, time to head back to the fold,
learning through play's enormous fun, full of wonders to behold.
Indoor shoes and lunch boxes are a few things to remember,
when you come back to playgroup on Wednesday 4th September.

Sports Day was fun, children behaved, then it started to pour,
inside we dashed for food and drink, tombola prizes galore.
Fond farewells, teary eyes, precious memories to treasure,
thanks for entrusting your children to us, they've always been such a pleasure.

A digger came to playgroup, we went out and had a look,
then we had a story about a digger, from a library book.
Using Lego Duplo Toolo I find the parts and build my digger,
then everyone tries to copy me, but mine is best and bigger.

Summer Break is almost done,
we hope that you had lots of fun.
This Thursday 6th is when we'll be
all back together happily!

At snack time we all sit together, our water and milk we pour,
we put our fruit upon our plates, with safety knives, we saw.
When we have finished all our fruit we ask if we can have toast
we are really good at spreading, that's the bit we like the most!

We set up small world play today and made it as a vets,
the people came with cats and dogs and lots of different pets.
We treated dogs for fleas and ticks, and gave them an injection,
and in return they gave us unconditional love and affection.

Five minutes warning then the bell rings, tidy up time we shout,
we sort the toys and pack away, nothing is left out.
We are very good at tidying, you wouldn't know we've been,
and only ten minutes ago it looked like a disaster scene.

Red and yellow make orange, for green I need yellow and blue,
blue and red make purple, it's fun learning something new.
I keep on mixing colours, now I've finished and I look down,
I'm the first to make a new colour, a lovely shade of brown!

Miss Martlew visited us from school, we played a pirate game,
we all helped to draw a map as finding treasure was our aim.
We followed all the clues which led us to the treasure chest,
she then read us a story book, we think Miss Martlew is the best!

On our nature walk we saw two beautiful butterflies and a bee,
on the bridge, over the stream our reflections we did see.
A stone it sinks, a stick it floats but our leaves float even quicker,
and on our way back to playgroup we said hello to the Vicar.
