We’re serving almost 150 hot meals each day now. They’re so popular I’ve even had to advertise for another member of lunchtime staff. If your child doesn’t already have a school dinner, I’d really urge your to consider it. They’re fantastic value and the brilliant kitchen team always try to accommodate specific needs for any fussy eaters. They’re delicious too…

[09/15/21]   We are looking for a new Lunchtime Supervisor to join our lunchtime team. If you are interested, please visit the vacancies section of our website: http://www.st-aidans.northumberland.sch.uk/website/lunchtime_supervisor/572268

14/09/2021

I had a visitor today. Mrs Brown, who is my mentor as a new Headteacher, came to visit school and brought her school dog Ruby with her.

Ruby and Mrs Brown visited all of the children and classrooms and the children loved meeting her. They were both very impressed with our school as well. They’ll be back lots of times this year so keep an eye out for them.

And in case you were wondering, the answer was no, we can’t get one…

[09/13/21]   Dear Parents/Carers,

Parents of all Y6 pupils, in both classes, should shortly receive a Parentmail regarding an upcoming activity I've organised for this age group.

Many people will have seen the Denmark game during the Euros in the summer where a player collapsed on the field and was saved due to the quick thinking of his team mates and immediate basic first aid.

You can never underestimate how important these skills are and, after updating all of our staff qualifications, we've committed to teaching our older pupils some basic first aid, CPR and what to do in an emergency. This will be provided through a specialist group called Tumbles and Grumbles who specialise in paediatric first aid and children's first aid courses, on a Wednesday afternoon for the next 5 weeks.

Our Year 5 children will receive the same training after half term and we will introduce this to other year groups as they move up the school.

As this is such a vital skill, school will cover the cost of this but any parents/carers wishing to make a small donation may do so via the school office and we will donate this to an appropriate charity.

Mr Moran

[09/13/21]   Just a reminder that today is the last day to register your interest for our amazing Showclub. Showclub is available for Year 3 upwards and you can register your interest by filling out the Googleform sent out via ParentMail last week.

[09/07/21]   It’s been a fantastic first day back and it’s been brilliant to be able to see all of the children again. Ive been around school today and seen all of the wonderful things the children have been up to.

Thank you to all of you for your patience with new drop off and collecting routines and for everyone maintaining their social distancing in lines and wearing masks where not possible.

There were a few teething problems with people being in the right lines, hopefully once children and parents get used to it will run much smoother. Most children were off site by 3.20 which was incredibly quick.

Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Mr Moran

We’re ready…

[08/31/21]   Wishing all of our community a very happy St. Aidan's Day!

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back next week and we hope you've all enjoyed a very relaxing Summer.

There have been a few enquiries regarding Sunshine Club and arrangements for coming back to school.

We're hoping to move all booking and payment arrangements for Sunshine Club/after school activities online for next year. Mrs Shortt and Mrs Jobling are undertaking a training session about this tomorrow and will be in contact to inform everyone how to book and pay after this has taken place.

There'll be further contact from me about arrangements for the first day back over the next few days.

Meanwhile, enjoy the last few days our your holiday from all of us at school.

Mr Moran

[07/16/21]   Message from Mrs Leslie

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the amazing gifts, cards and kind wishes to mark my retirement. It really has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Head teacher for the past 20 years. We have been on an incredible journey together and I could not have done it without your unfailing support and my amazing staff team and governing body.

The past 16 months especially have been so tough for us all and you have all risen to that challenge; especially dealing with bubbles bursting and long periods of home learning. Your resilience and understanding have been awesome! I hope that you can have the opportunity to rest and relax during the Summer Holiday and spend some precious family time together.

Your amazing children continue to be an absolute credit to you and I will so miss seeing you all every day!

To those staff, children in Y6 and some other year groups who are also leaving - you are all wished well for what we know will be a very bright future. Thanks for your contribution to our school - you will be so missed!

I now in absolute confidence hand over the leadership of this incredible school family to Mr Moran as you begin a new and exciting chapter - knowing that you will all continue to go from strength to strength growing " In The Love and Truth of Jesus".

Lots of love,

Mrs Leslie
Head teacher
❤🌈

[07/14/21]   For parent/carers of pupils in Classes Y3, Y4 and Y5 - Sorry for the confusion 😞

As the activity is now planned to take place in the morning tomorrow, please can the children come to school dressed in the clothes that can get wet. Children should bring a towel and their uniform to school with them as they will be changing into their uniform after the water fight.

Thanks so much 😊

Congratulations to everyone at St Aidan's on completely smashing our Race For Life Target and for your incredible performances over the past two days. Our wonderful pupils and staff have just ran their hearts out with such determination, pushing themselves to go as far as they can! We've even had some pupils do it at home because they're self-isolating!

Our Race For Life has been in memory of those loved ones we have lost and to give hope to those who are still fighting. ❤

Mrs Leslie and Chip were so disappointed that they couldn't do their run alongside any of the other bubbles, so their "bubble" has completed their run at the end of the day. (Mind good job really as the children ran so much faster 😉)

Congratulations to you all - you are superstars!!! 🤩🌈
