Our Alumnae are affectionately called Maristines rather than 'old girls' to preserve the name used in the Marist School in Paignton, Devon.

On World Teachers Day, we would like to say a big thank you to all our teachers for the amazing work that they do every day. You are all superstars!
Why not take a trip down memory lane by sharing your favourite teachers and the reasons why.
Please find below for a message from our Head of Sixth Form, Miss Nicole Fenning:
"This year, we are keen to develop links with industry to enrich and broaden the learning experience of our Sixth Form students. I would like to create a professional network that can be used to inspire our girls. Professionals would be invited to speak to students and share their insight into their particular field. We are not looking for specific industries - anybody who has something to offer in terms of insight into a particular career or life experience would be really helpful. Thank you."
If you would like to help and you are happy to be contacted, please email [email protected]
Hi Maristines, can you help with this request below?

Please find below for a message from one of our Maristines, Katie OāNeill (1982-1994):
āI am raising money on behalf of Nicola Loughrey, who joined The Marist at 4 and left after her A Levels in 1996. Her older sister, Michelle, also attended The Marist from the age of 4-18.
Nicola was recently diagnosed with advanced stage 4 cancer, just 3 months after the birth of her first child, a little boy called William. The cancer has spread and Nicola is currently undergoing aggressive treatment. She is in a very difficult position, particularly with a young child, and her oldest school friends are raising money to help fund childcare and other support at home to make life a little easier at this very difficult time.
We have set up a Go Fund Me page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nicola-lee-and-baby-williams-help-fund
All donations will be gratefully received and make a huge difference. On behalf of Nicola, Lee and little William, thank you.ā

Year 9 Careers Speed Dating - Can You Help?
On Friday 31 January, 2pm-4pm, we will be holding our annual Year 9 Careers Speed Dating event at school.
We are looking for people who are either qualified professionals, run their own business, or have specific training and work in an area of interest to help support Marist girls with career advice and GCSE option choices. The event would involve giving a short 'snapshot' introduction of yourself and your job, followed by a Speed Dating Style question time at your desks as the girls rotate around the room.
If you are able to volunteer your time or would like more information, please get in touch by emailing [email protected]
As part of our careers provision at The Marist, we host a bi-annual Careers Fair for students in Years 9-13.
Our next Careers Fair will take place on Thursday 27 February 2020, from 6pm-8pm, and we would love to hear from you. We are uniquely fortunate to have, within our Maristines network, a broad array of careers and professions which may be of great interest to our pupils.
If you think that your company/organisation may wish to attend and run a stand, please email Mrs Rebecca May, Careers Co-ordinator via email, [email protected]
We are sad to announce the passing of Sheila Kearvell.
A past pupil of The Marist School, Sheila Kearvell was one of the first pupils on the Sunninghill campus in 1947 as well as a long serving and devoted Governor and a passionate and talented music teacher. Sheila Kearvell will be remembered with great fondness by The Marist School Principal, Mr McCloskey, and the Marist community.
Special Mass Invitation - Don't forget to confirm your attendance!
You are warmly invited to join The Marist School community in a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Thomas Burns (Bishop Tom). The Mass will take place on Tuesday 2nd July at 11am in the Sports Hall.
We are giving thanks for Karl McCloskey and his many years of service to Marist education. Maristines and Smarties are also invited to join pupils for a BBQ in the Convent gardens at 12.00pm.
If you would like to attend, please email [email protected] by Thursday 27th June.
Always lovely to hear from one of our Maristines, Marisa Blagden (nee Woelk), who is publishing her first two novels this year. Marisa attended The Marist from 1982-1992.
