We're thrilled to announce that five members of the SRC Team UK have been selected to compete at EuroSkills Herning 2025๐
Trained by WorldSkills UK in collaboration with Pearson, these talented individuals will compete in Denmark from 9th โ13th September. EuroSkills Herning offers the opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills at the highest level while gaining invaluable experience to supercharge their careers.
This competition is also a crucial step towards WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, the ultimate stage for skills excellence.

๐Meet your Team UK WorldSkills Contender - Ben Robertson ๐
Yesterday you met car painting squad UK member Oisin, but todayโs the turn for Ben Robertson!
Ben makes up the second of three car painting Squad UK members, with SRC producing two thirds of the Squad UK members ๐ Another proud moment for SRC!
Ben won a silver medal in automotive refinishing at the 2024 WorldSkills UK National Finals. Ben a talented car resprayer, currently works at G&H Auto Repairs having successfully completed his level 3 Vehicle Accident Repair Paint Principles Level 3 Diploma Apprenticeship.
Car painters must excel in accurate colour matching, seamless application, and environmentally responsible practices and Ben is proving heโs up to the challenge.

Meet your Team UK WorldSkills Contender - Oisin McKerr
๐ Big news from the world of automotive talent! Former Level 3 Vehicle Accident Repair Paint Principles apprentice Oisin McKerr has been announced as a member of Squad UK and in the running to represent Team UK at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026!
After winning gold at the 2023 WorldSkills UK competition, Oisin is now one of only three contenders competing for a spot in the prestigious international competition in the Car Painting category.
When it comes to accident repair, true craftsmanship means the damage is invisible โ a flawless finish that matches the original down to the last detail. And thatโs exactly what Oisin has mastered. ๐

We're thrilled to announce that ten of our current and recent students have been selected for the UK Squad! ๐
These talented individuals will begin an 18-month intensive training programme with hopes of being chosen for the final squad to represent the UK at WorldSkills Shanghai in September 2026.
SRC is proud to have the highest number of competitors in training among College's across the UK for this prestigious competition. Chosen for their outstanding performances in the WorldSkills UK National Finals, our participants represent a cross-section of the Collegeโs diverse offerings, with participants ranging from level 3 apprenticeships to degree students. Their selection showcases the incredible skills nurtured here at the College. ๐

๐๐ฉโ๐ฌ Exciting news! Our Level 3 Applied Science students recently travelled to South West College to take part in a Laboratory Skills Competition, endorsed by WorldSkills UK Local Skills Competition Endorsement Framework. In just three hours, students collaborated in teams to extract caffeine from coffee beans and analysed their findings using Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC) to detect caffeine presence. โ A huge well done to all participants involved, and a particular congratulations to our students who secured third place! ๐ฅ๐We are extremely proud of you! ๐
