The Fewer Toys Children Have, The More They Play - Raised Good

Interesting read 📚 🤔

The Fewer Toys Children Have, The More They Play - Raised Good We're lead to be believe that if a little is good, then more is better. But, the irony is when it comes to toys, the fewer kids have the more they play.

🆕Today we publish our 12th Northern Ireland Childcare Survey, with the warning that without support and investment in this essential sector, we could be facing a childcare crisis that would have a severe impact on parents’ ability to work, and on the economy.

The report finds:

❗ Almost one third of childcare providers said they were “struggling” or “distressed” meaning they are focused on survival over the next year or at risk of closure
❗ Over a quarter of parents are having difficulties finding and paying for the childcare they need
❗ The average cost of one full-time childcare place here is now over a third of average household income.

This cannot go on. If we are to rebuild our economy, support parents to work and invest in child development, childcare must be an urgent priority as we head into the next election.

Thanks to all of the parents and childcare providers who took time to complete the survey, your voices must now be heard.

Do you have a child who's unwell and are wondering if they should be in nursery or school?

Check out our handy guide below to find out when they should stay off, and when they can go back if they are well enough to do so.

Symptoms and severity of illness will vary from person to person. If your child is unwell and you have concerns about their symptoms you should speak to your GP.

If you are pregnant and have been exposed to any of these illnesses you should seek prompt advice from your antenatal carer.
