Classes will continue during summer months, committing to one or two classes will help children retain and learn new topics. Classes are Curriculum based focusing on Literacy, Numeracy.
Our Phonics Classes will also run. These classes are excellent for improving Reading and Spellings, we teach the Phonemes and how to blend and decode words.
I know during the Summer months parents have great intentions to do a little but this can go by the wayside very quickly. If you can commit to one or two classes during Summer phone 07708562476 or PM Bright Sparks Armagh.

What type of learner are you, visual, auditory or kinaesthetic? Our classes cater for different types of learners. We adapt to suit various topics. Our KS2 children are learning about Units of Measure. We watched a PowerPoint on Units of Measure, displayed a variety of items used for length, weight and capacity, used information leaflets on what they need to know and typical questions in exam papers. We build on what children have been taught previously, we learned how to multiply and divide decimals by 10, 100 and 1000, then linked this concept to converting lengths as well as visually looking at rulers and measuring tapes to help answer questions. See attached photos. We have some availability in some of the classes. For further information PM Bright Sparks Armagh or phone 07708562476.

Our P3–P7 have been learning rules regarding Spellings, dropping e, rules about ‘y,’ doubling consonants, i before e except after c and homophones, especially beneficial for End of Year Spelling Tests and for children doing the Transfer Test.
We have some availability and classes will continue to run during the summer months. To maintain what children have been taught and for preparation for moving into their new classes why not commit to at least one hour a week.
We cover a variety of Curriculum based topics in Literacy, Numeracy and Phonics for Primary School Children.

Our KS2 children have been learning quite a lot about Fractions. During class to save time we go through our Fractions workbooks and do a lot of the work orally, taking turns in giving answers to ensure all children are understanding the concepts.
For trickier questions in Fractions, we complete worksheets so children have a copy in their folder so they can revise and revisit when needed.
Topics covered in class and in photos are: How fractions are written; Unit fractions of shapes, number and sets; Mixed numbers; Finding fractions of numbers; Fractions with a total of one; Adding and subtraction fractions with the same denominator; Comparing and ordering fractions; Tenths and hundredths; Equivalent Fractions; Simplifying Fractions and Fractions on a number line.
We are working well with this Workbook and will cover a few more topics, all beneficial for KS2 children.
For further information regarding classes PM Bright Sparks Armagh or phone 07708562476

Our P3 and P4 children learned about multiplication and division facts - knowing one multiplication or division fact means that they know three related facts.
Great work on a new topic for some of our P3 children. We will be building on this throughout this term.

All work shown in photos is from a one hour class, completing Timestables and dividing worksheets, along with telling and drawing the time for o’clock and half past. A pleasure to work with.

Some work from our Phonics Class. Our sound was “ou’ and “ow”. We went over all the Phonics Sounds, children sound out words, complete word sorting worksheets and finish with Dipthongs worksheets.
This class is excellent for children who may struggle with Reading and Spelling and are linked with Linguistic Phonics taught in schools. Once children get to know how to pronounce the sounds, we teach how to blend the sounds which improves Reading and Spellings.
A great class for boosting confidence.

Our focus today was on how to use a dictionary, a thesaurus and alphabetical order.

Our P7 children used the thesaurus to give definitions of the same words as both a noun and a verb. Excellent work all around.

As always, we went over the Timestables and finished class with a game of Bingo. Great work everyone. See photos of children’s work.
