St Brigid's Day Assembly 02/02/2024

St Brigid's Day Assembly
Congratulations to our Primary 4 pupils for presenting an excellent assembly on St Brigid this morning. The pupils read the short story of Brigid’s life. We heard the story of how she tricked an Irish Chieftain into giving her land to build her church and convent by using her cloak to cover as much land as she needed. The pupils then told us how the St Brigid's cross came into being. Finally they sang the song St. Brigid. Well done to all!!!

🕊St Brigid’s Day🕊

The boys and girls were very busy this week learning about St Brigid and how she was inspired by St Patrick to use her kindness to care for the poor and sick!💚

🙏🏼
Brigid

You were a woman of peace.
You brought harmony where there was conflict.
You brought light to the darkness.
You brought hope to the downcast.

May the mantle of your peace cover those who are troubled and anxious, and may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.
Inspire us to act justly and to reverence all God has made.

Brigid you were a voice for the wounded and the weary. Strengthen what is weak within us.
Calm us into a quietness that heals and listens.

May we grow each day into greater wholeness in mind, body and spirit.

Amen.
