Absolutely delighted to help and to raise money for such a great cause!

A huge thanks to the pupils of J4 at the High School of Glasgow Junior School who completed a sponsored walk from the school in Bearsden to Gavin's Mill!

They donated the Β£1757 raised to Janarupam, a charity which focuses on the education and development of poor children and young people in Bangalore.

Thank you! ❀

An excellent game enjoyed by all. Thanks to the Forty Club for the game to round off our unbeaten, albeit short, season.

Another exciting finish today at Old Anniesland as the High School won by three wickets with two balls to spare. The Forty Club batted first and declared at tea on 144-8. We managed that total thanks to good contributions in the middle order from Steven Carr (28), Martin Oliver (28) and Kevin Lawler (26 no). In reply the school measured their chase to perfection and as we entered the last over all three results were possible. However unlike Monday the close finish went the other way as a dropped catch allowed the eighth wicket pair to scamper the winning runs. Jerry Smith (3-55) had the best figures for the club but mention should be made of Nick Ralphs (2-55) and Bob Angus (1-8) https://thefortyclub.play-cricket.com/website/results/4551022

As you may be aware, the legend that is Allan James will be retiring at the end of the summer term as our catering provider.

Allan and his late wife Ann first attended Rothesay Rugby Camp in 1994 before taking over in the Jimmie Ireland Stand and at the Junior School in 2001. Altogether, when he departs in a few weeks' time, he will have completed 27 years of wonderful service to the High School. Allan added the morning interval and breakfast provision at the Senior School as well as providing Saturday morning catering at Anniesland which proved extremely popular with parents, visiting teams and staff alike.

Despite Allan's very varied career in catering, including several years as Head of Catering at Pinewood Film Studios, he has been especially proud of his lengthy association with the High School of Glasgow.

We know many of you will have great memories of Allan, Ann and their staff and we would very much like to present Allan with a book of "High School Memories" on his retirement. If you would like to contribute, whether that be a fond photo of Allan, or your memories of your time with him at the School, you can either email us at [email protected] or comment below.

Please send your inclusions by Friday 11th June.
