Hi
Hamish & I Would love to come to Mini Michael’s tomorrow (13th) if there is space please?
Thanks 🀞
I think I left my scarf in the Parish hall yesterday πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ it's blue with butterflies on. If it's there, will I be OK to pick it up next Thursday? 😊
Thank you for organising such a great nativity trail. My children loved completing it 😊
Another lovely session at Mini Michael's Babies this morning. This week I taught about the importance of relaxation for Mums. We learnt how to give our selves a hand massage and did a guided relaxation. And enjoyed some delicious baking of course.
All settled in the Watson house for a few days. πŸ™‚
Day 3 of hosting the posada.. Our friends have enjoyed listening to Christmas songs with Harper around the tree!
Gerard Rundell Day 2 of hosting the Christmas Posada.... Henry sharing his mince pie with his guests 😁
Excited to have hosted our Posada nativity set on the first night of its journey around Alnwick. I hope they enjoy their travels. Look forward to seeing where they end up!

A play group at St Michael's Church, Alnwick, for under 5s and their Grown Ups. Meeting within the church every Thursday during term time. 9:30 - 11.

It was wonderful to have our first Messy Church back inside at St Michael's for over a year! Thanks to everyone who came along. We certainly had a lovely time and we hope you had fun too!

[05/22/21]   Messy Church update!

We're now full for this morning. If you've not booked in I'm afraid we don't have space any more! Sorry but hope to see any others another time!

20/05/2021

We're looking forward to our next Messy Church this Saturday 11am-12.30pm in St Michael's Church. We'll be doing some craft, hearing about Pentecost, and finishing with a bring-your-own picnic together!

Those who have said they'd like to come in the previous post, we'd love to see you there! If any others are interested we still have a few spaces if anyone else would like to come, so do let us know in the comments.

For those who are coming, please bring your own picnic lunch which we'll have either in the churchyard or in church depending on the weather. We'll have some hot drinks, and hopefully something sweet!

Messy Church is back again!

We're planning to run a Messy Church on Saturday 22nd May, 11am-12.30pm, celebrating Pentecost (and if you don't already know, you can find out what that's all about if you come along!). There'll be craft, a story, food, and fun to be had!

Restrictions should allow us up to 30 places indoors (not counting under 5s), so the plan is to meet in St Michael's church, and if the weather's nice finish with a bring-your-own picnic in the churchyard. If not we'll eat indoors.

We hope everyone who wants to come will be able to, but to give us an idea of numbers it'd be great if you could comment below to let us know if you're interested!

It was lovely to see everyone this morning for Mini Michaels. It's always a special day, but today also has another reason to be special!

Today is the start of Thy Kingdom Come! It's a special time between Ascension (Thursday 13th) and Pentecost (Sunday 23rd), for praying that God's loving kingdom will come on earth, as it is in heaven.

So the Church of England is introducing the Cheeky Pandas! It's a really good set of resources for children to explore over those 11 days. If you're interested watch the promo video video below and check out the rest of the resources in the link, including an App, videos and other ideas!

[05/12/21]   Morning all! Here's this week's booking post:

From the feedback we've had, the parish hall seems preferable to outdoors, so unless others feel strongly the other way, we'll stay in the hall with slightly smaller numbers. So it'll be 16 in total across the two rooms (though that number may go up from next week!).

Please could you comment below if you would like to come to tomorrow's session, 9.30-10.30. Please also let us know the age of your little one(s) and if you *didn't* come last week!

As always I'll reply to all those that we can fit in, and please let us know if anything changes so that we can re-allocate your place! Looking forward to it!

[05/05/21]   This week's booking post!

The weather forecast is technically dry for Thursday morning, but given very recent rain/possibly hail, and a cold forecast, we'll be going with our wet weather option again this week. That means we'll be limited to 16 adults in total in the Parish Hall.

So, as before, if you'd like to come to Mini Michael's tomorrow at 9.30-10.30 please comment below. Please also let us know the age of your little one(s) and if you *didn't* come last week.

I'll reply to all those who we can fit in! And also as before, please do let us know if for any reason you can't make it and we'll pass on the space to someone else.

[04/28/21]   Here's this week's booking post! The weather forecast is for rain so, unless that changes, we'll be going with our wet weather option with everyone in the Parish Hall. Unfortunately that means we'll be limited to 16 adults in total (two groups, one of 10, the other of 6, in separate rooms).

So, as before, if you'd like to come to Mini Michael's tomorrow at 9.30-10.30 please comment below. Please also let us know the age of your little one(s) and if you *didn't* come last week.

[04/21/21]   We're looking forward to our first Mini Michael's of 2021!

If you'd like to join us tomorrow morning 9.30-10.30 please comment below letting us know, along with the age of your little one(s). We'll reply to all those who we're able to fit into tomorrow's session.

Those who get a reply, please let us know if anything changes and you can no longer make it, and we'll pass on your spot to someone else.

See you all soon!

[04/19/21]   Hi everyone, it's wonderful to see how many people are keen to come to Mini Michaels and we can't wait to welcome you all!

As there's quite a few we're going to have to have a booking system. We'll have to give it a go and iron out any problems as we try it out!

What we're planning is: I'll put up a post every Wednesday morning. Anyone who's sure they want to come the following day please comment on that post letting us know you'd like to come. I'll then reply to the comments of all those we can fit in. I'll let them know which group to come to (we may have a few babies at the toddler group as it seems there's quite a lot of babies!).

We'll try and ensure everyone gets to come every other week or so, but if you've not been able to get a place for a few weeks please send us a message and we'll try and make sure it's as fair as we can. It's going to be a bit of a logistical puzzle though so please bear with us!

Looking forward to Thursday!

We're really pleased to announce that we're hoping to start a modified Mini Michaels from next week, Thursday 22nd, 9.30-10.30.

Under the current restrictions we hope to run two sessions at the same time. They won't be quite the old familiar Mini Michaels but we hope you'll enjoy it anyway!

One will be for parents and babies in the Parish Hall, it'll be an open and friendly space to get together and chat (and hopefully there'll be some tea and cake involved too!).

The other will be for parents and toddlers, either outside in St Michael's graveyard, or if the weather's bad, in the Parish Hall. Meeting outside means we can talk and play without wearing facemasks, and hopefully enjoy a bit of sunshine! Again there'll be cake, as well as a bit of fun and a story!

Both will be limited with numbers, the outdoor group will be 15 parents (and their under 5s), and the baby group probably 8 (TBC). What we'd really appreciate is if you could comment below to let us know if you'd be interested in coming, and to which session, and then we can work out how to implement a booking system. We hope, even if we can't get everyone in every week, that we can make sure everyone can come fairly often!

Very excited to be getting up and running again even if it's a little different!

What a wonderful Easter Day it has been. It was great to have our first Messy Church in a year yesterday with a picnic outside, some craft and an Easter Egg hunt. Fantastic to be able to get together with some familiar faces and some new ones (I forgot to get a photo of everyone unfortunately, but we got one of the early arrivals, as well as a few during the hunt)! Also a huge thank you to Alnwick Co-op for supplying the Eggs!

Then a very special Easter service this morning including the chance to sing outdoors in glorious sunshine.

Easter blessings to you all!

Service for the National Day of Reflection 23/03/2021

Service for the National Day of Reflection

Today is the National Day of Reflection, marking one year since the first lockdown. It's a day to look back over a year like no other, and acknowledge all that it's meant for us and those we know and love. It's a day particularly to remember and support those who are carrying grief for people they've lost.

St Michael's church will be open from 10am-2pm for private prayer and reflection, and there'll be a listening ear for anyone who'd like to talk.

We'll also be holding a short service of prayer at 11.50 leading up to the minute's silence at 12pm. This will be livestreamed through the link below, so do join us either online or in person if you'd like to.

We're really pleased to announce that we're planning to run a Messy Church on Saturday 3rd April at 11am-1pm.

We'll be celebrating Easter outdoors with some fun activities in the churchyard and a bring-your-own picnic. It'll be wonderful to be able to get together in person again.

From 29th March the regulations change to allow us to meet outdoors for parents and child activities with a limit of 15 people (not counting under 5s). So please comment below, to let us know if you'd like to come to Messy Church, and how many of you there'll be (again not counting under 5s). We'll have to run on a first-come-first-served basis. Also it'll be weather dependant, so our wet-weather plan is to re-schedule.

It'll be different from normal, but it's a start after so long not being able to meet. We're really looking forward to it!
