Two more sleeps before the Studio opens its doors again after 4 months of lockdown! We haven’t been idle however, and you guys will be in for a real treat when you return! Please welcome the BIG REVEAL!
Christmas & New Years opening times
I’d like to give you all an update on the opening times during the festive season this year.
The training studio will be closed between the 21st and 27th of December.
Due to the latest very sad news about mainland Scotland being put under Level 4 Covid restrictions on Boxing Day, I regret to say that unfortunately, we have to go back to online training until these restrictions are lifted.
I will be in touch with all clients that already have appointments between Christmas & New Year.
Online training will be available on the 28th, 29th & 30th of December, the Studio will then close again for the 31st of December and 1st of January. Online training will commence again from the 2nd of January 2021.
To finish on a higher note, I’d like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous and Healthy New Year! Thank you all for sticking with me throughout this difficult and unprecedented year. Let’s hope that 2021 will hold a bit more positivity than 2020 did.🤞

Covid-19 closures and how it affects us:
As you all know, yesterday ministers revealed emergency legislation which would give them the powers to shut down any establishment which could be considered to host “gatherings” – pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafés and spas - even gyms.
Obviously, oPT in Studio is NOT a free access for all gym; it’s a private, one-on-one training environment. HOWEVER, we all have to take the current situation seriously and take all necessary measures to avoid spreading this virus.
🥊 Boxercise classes are suspended until further notice.
👥 Small Group PT sessions, where group members aren’t close family members of each other, will be rescheduled as individual sessions.
🏢With the schools now closed, I understand childcare might be an issue for some of you guys, so I’ll be opening the diary for Tuesdays and Fridays if there will be a demand.
😷 Those who are coming in to train, rest assured you won’t meet anyone but me, and I’ll keep the safe distance of 2 metres from you at all times. Please do not come in if you aren’t feeling well.
🧴All equipment will keep being thoroughly disinfected after every use.
🧼Thorough handwashing upon entering and leaving the premises is required.
👟I’ll be putting shoe changing and shoe storage facilities in place in the coming weeks, I will soon ask that you all change your shoes when you arrive.
📱If the situation gets even worse and we go on lockdown, I’ll be looking into training you guys through Skype or FaceTime, and tailor the sessions to the space and equipment you have in your home. (This option could be used by my frontline worker clients who are already self isolating, let’s discuss what I can do for you!)
💞Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you have been financially affected by the crisis and are concerned about your PT package, we will work something out.
Thank you guys for your continued support, it means the world to me. These are extraordinary and undoubtedly difficult times for all of us. We aim to carry on as close to normal as possible for as long as we can, and with these measures in place hopefully we will all come out on the other side of this.
Remember, exercise is the best immune system booster. 💪🏼

#MondayMotivation especially true in these crazy times
With regards to the current concerning situation, with the Covid-19 pandemic reaching our area, I’d like to reassure all my clients, and share with you the health and safety measures I’ve put in place to avoid spreading the disease at oPT in Studio.
🦠 All equipment is being thoroughly disinfected in between PT sessions.
🧴Hand wash facilities at the premises are equipped with antibacterial hand soap and single use paper towels (there’s also hand gel for everyone to use as and when required).
🤲🏼 I would like to ask each and every one of you to thoroughly wash your hands right after arriving, and right before leaving the premises (For at least 20 seconds, soap and warm water, you know the drill!)
📏I’ll maintain a one meter distance from all clients as much as possible. (When training you in small groups, every effort will be made to keep you at a safe distance from each other also.)
😷I kindly ask all my clients NOT to attend their sessions if they experience any cold or flu like symptoms, especially fever and a dry cough. (Should I discover any symptoms on myself, I will self isolate also, and inform all of you if your session needs to be postponed.)
🥊 Boxercise classes MIGHT need to be paused for a time in the near future, I’m closely monitoring the situation and I’ll let you guys know if this becomes necessary.
Let’s look after each other, and I hope we can get through these difficult times without having to close the Studio. Remember, regular exercise is one of the best immune system boosters there is! I really hope I can keep training you guys safely until this all blows over, but we all have to do our bit.

Or, to be exact, a parallel bar swing. I was 13, and considered quite old to be just starting out in artistic gymnastics, but coach Lamont saw something in me and registered me for my first competition. I discovered my passion for the sport then, and 4 years later I was an overall individual National Champion gymnast in my home country, South Africa. I later trained to become a judge and coach, and my dream was to one day have my own club. Life had other plans for me however, and the winds of change blew me across continents and oceans; 10 years later I found myself in Scotland, looking for a career change and wanting to find a profession that will make me feel the same passion and enthusiasm that gymnastics used to.
I qualified as a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer in 2011, started to work in a gym and continued to train and broaden my horizons. From gymnastics coaching to swimming lessons, I’ve tried my hands in many areas of health and fitness but what I loved best was Personal Training - helping individuals achieve their goals by providing professional advice and guidance, using my years of experience to help someone overcome difficulties and keep motivated - it’s a truly rewarding job. From an early age I was taught to recognise how body in space (technique and posture) should be, this deep rooted knowledge definitely helped me become a better trainer.
After years of working for companies, in March 2018 I had the opportunity to go solo and start my own business, oPT in Personal Training. I am very fortunate to have a group of loyal clients who supported my decision and stood by me, without you guys this road would have been much rockier than what it was, and I appreciate your trust in me and your continued support more than you know.
Our very own Private Studio opened early 2019, and it's truly a dream come true. oPT in Studio is everything I hoped for and has all the state of the art equipment my clients will ever need.
