Week 2 of the elimination diet results and my attempt at an egg based pizza as wheat is a no no just now..
Can you see the difference between photos? (apologies for the mug shot images😂)
Pizza base is 4 eggs and goats cheese whisked together and then baked @200 degrees for 15-20 min then let it cool before you add tomato base and toppings for baking at 225 for 10-15 minutes👍🏻 YUMMY 😋

This is not medical advice, I am just me sharing my allergy journey!

For years I have suffered from allergies - I’ve been to immunology where they have prescribed medication to deal with the symptoms, but have never got to the main cause.

So.. I decided to take control and try and find out what the root cause is..

This is the start of my journey - I’m sharing because I think it’s important that we share experiences and things that work.

Time spent with family has been one of the things that I have missed the most over the last year.

This weekend is the first time in over a year that we as a family have managed to spend time freely together ❤️

Today I organised a giant SUP board session for us all - my Dad stayed onshore and took great photos, but my Mum almost 73 popped a wetsuit on for the first time and went paddle-boarding!

The chat went at bit like this:
“ Lyndsay, the things you get me into!! 😂”
Me - “ Mum life is for living and having new adventures!”
Mum - “ Well ok - but I am 73..”
Me - “ it’s just a number! Now come on and let’s have some fun!”
Mum- “ Ok then!”

Outcome - We all had a great time and can’t wait until we do it again! 😂😂

Life is precious, those that we love are precious ❤️, live and enjoy them both as fully as you can❤️

Don’t let your own self limiting thoughts stop you enjoying new adventures !

I am really looking forward to meeting my groups this week in the PDConnect research project.

We start our group exercise sessions this week and I can’t wait to work with everyone in helping them become stronger and fitter.

In the words of Julie Jones, Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer and Physiotherapist at RGU -

“There is much evidence that engaging in regular exercise has numerous benefits for Parkinson’s management – not solely as complementary to medication, but of equal importance.

“Exercise is clearly beneficial from a physical perspective, but there is a growing consensus that is leads to physiological changes within the brain that may have a disease modifying effect.”

Julie also added: “If this study proves successful and the participants show real progress having embedded exercise in their daily life, this approach could be rolled out wider across the NHS. By working directly with patients and the professionals who can best support them, we can make a real difference on the lives of people living with Parkinson’s.”

Wednesday thoughts 💭

Do you get enjoyment from learning a new skill?

How do you keep your motivation and enthusiasm to be consistent?

Would accountability help keep you on track?

I think a lot about this and feel that there is not one global answer - it’s very individual.

Sometimes we don’t even know how we can become consistent in making change 🤔

According to Phillippa Lally; a health psychology researcher at University College London, a new habit usually takes a little more than 2 months — 66 days to be exact — and as much as 254 days until it's fully formed.

My thoughts on this are to start small, making one change and embedding that at a time.

I did a post a few weeks ago on WHY? I mentioned 8 points in which I include in my day.

The first point was drinking a minimum of 2 litres of water per day. Why do I do this? Check out the following link :

Do you drink enough water? Is it time to up your intake?

Try splitting your intake up throughout the day and drink 8x 250ml glasses to reach your 2 litres.

I’ve had to up my water over the last month as I’ve been doing a skip for stroke association challenge - which has definitely driven the need for more hydration!

I’ve attached a small video of a new skill I’ve learnt - boxer skips ! I’m super chuffed that I have finally nailed them 😂 here’s to the next skip technique and most likely more hydration!

Consistency and determination is the key- we just need to know how to find it. If you would like help, please reach out.
