Operating as usual

[06/07/21]   This Sunday (13th June) is our Family Service. If you would like to join us (and if you haven't already) drop Hannah an email at [email protected] to sign up. The service is an informal and relaxed time to worship as a family with games, crafts, interactive story and time to connect to God. Hope to see you there.

[05/28/21]   Happy Bank Holiday and Half-Term break to you all! For those of you able to have a well-deserved (and long awaited) break over the coming week, may you have a wonderful rest, time away and safe journeys.

For those of you still around on Sunday, it is our Sunday Group Zoom at 10.30am, where we are looking at how, filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter was able to bring Dorcas (also know as Tabitha) back to life! Just like Jesus had done fro Jairus' daughter. We can all be filled with the Holy Spirit and be blessed with amazing gifts too, just like Peter. What amazing spiritual gift would you might like to have?

With videos, games, story and time to 'chat and catch', just let me know if you are around and would like me to send over the zoom invite.

God bless, x

[05/28/21]   We just want to wish all school leavers (and their families) a wonderful day on this momentous occasion. May be it filled with joy as you/they move into this next phase and may all parents of school leavers be filled with pride, joy and peace (and not too much shock that an end of an era has come around so quickly and that your 'babies' have grown up so fast!). God bless you all on this next stage of your journey. x

Good Morning,

Now I know today is not a Sunday, when I normally the Home Grown Faith packs, but today is Ascension. This is the day, we remember Jesus returning to heaven after his death and resurrection, and after promising his friends a holy helper to remain with them - the Holy Spirit, which we get to learn more about at Pentecost.

Here is a handy little video which tell the story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcFw8pLBSIo&t=4s
And the passage can be read here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+1%3A1-11&version=GNT

I have attached a family activity pack which you may like to explore as a family too.

Don't forget it is our On Sunday, we are offering our first family service back in church (see attached flyer). We are focusing upon the upcoming events of Pentecost (which follows on shortly after Ascension), and how we can all receive the Holy Spirit as our Holy helper in our lives. The end of today, is the deadline to sign up (so that in the morning we can set everything up for Sunday, giving it time to be quarantined etc...) If you haven't yet, and would like to join us, do just drop me an email.

Hope to see you soon,
Hannah and the Children's team

Just a quick reminder that the end of today (Wednesday) is the deadline for signing up for Sunday's Family Service, if you haven't already. So looking forward to seeing you all!

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you didn't get too soggy yesterday and are enjoying seeing hints of blue and drier weather today.

I have attached this week's Home Grown Faith, this week looking at Jesus' teaching to love one another, just as he loves us.

The full passage can be found here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=john+15%3A9-17&version=GNT

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope that you have all had a wonderful week and are enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

I have attached this week's Home Grown Faith - Together at Home, looking at Jesus walking alongside two of his followers from Jerusalem to Emmaus (about 7 miles in distance) on the evening after Jesus had risen again! The men did not recognise Jesus at first and were keen to tell him all about the events over that first Easter, thinking he was unaware of them. They later realised they had been talking to Jesus all this time, when they felt a fire in their hearts.

The 3 key things from this for me, are that Jesus loves to hear our stories (even though he knows them already); He walks amongst us and beside us (especially in times of despair, as the men had not believed that Jesus had risen from the dead, until this) and that when the men invited him for tea because they wanted to spend more time with Jesus, it was then that they felt the fire in their hearts. In the same way, when we invite Jesus into our lives, it is then that we can experience the fire in our hearts too (not heartburn you understand) but the fullness of hope and joy and love.

The passage in Luke 24 v. 13-39 can be read here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=luke+24%3A13-39&version=GNT

Or can be viewed in this video here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3QkZsKLU2o

You might also enjoy this song too:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfH4sjsL0Pk

You might also like to play the game, 'What is it?', where you identify familiar items from only a close up part of it. Emphasising that sometimes we don't recognise things that are familiar to us, even when they are right in front of us, just like the two men didn't recognise Jesus at first. You might like to take it in turns to test each other out with similar images or only showing a small part of an object.

Today is our Sunday Group Zoom at 10.30am. Do get in touch if you would like to join us, (and if it is not too late when you read this of course). Today's session is following the theme of Jesus on the Emmaus road too.

Dear Daddy God,

Thank you that Jesus is alive! Thank you that Jesus is with us every day. Help us to always be able to recognise and see Jesus every day. Help us to experience you and your word like a fire in our hearts. Amen

God bless you all and wishing you all a wonderful may bank holiday and week ahead,

Hannah x
