Sadly, our lovely Clive will be retiring at the end of the summer.

Which means Sunshine Daisy Nursery is now recruiting a Nursery Cook to join their team.

As Nursery Cook you will be responsible for:

Checking the freshness of food and ingredients
Supervising activities of other food preparation workers
Developing recipes and determining how to present dishes
Planning menus and ensuring the quality of meals
Preparing and cooking nutritious meals
Catering for a range of dietary and cultural requirements
Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
Ordering and maintaining an inventory of food and supplies
Monitoring sanitation practices and following kitchen safety standards
Our farmhouse kitchen is the heart of the nursery, and the right person will enjoy running a 5* kitchen and answering children's questions about where carrots come from!

We love baking and growing our own veg - our new Nursery Cook will be able to make the role their own depending on their particular passions. Beetroot brownies have been very popular!

You may already be skilled and have experience in this field or you may be considering a new career and would be happy to train.

The role is 30 hours a week (Monday-Friday 10am until 4pm), with a competitive starting salary of £9.72 per hour. We offer 7 weeks of paid holiday entitlement each year, a company pension scheme and other benefits such as our employee discount on nursery fees.

Successful appointment of this role is subject to a clear DBS check and suitable references.

If you would like to be considered for this role, please email [email protected] to request an application form.

"The Gruffalo's child was feeling bored..."

...Not in our nursery!

At Crown Daisy Nursery on the Aldershot and Farnham border, we are looking for an inspiring early years practitioner or teacher to help us keep our youngsters engaged, nurtured and excited to learn.

If you hold a Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education, and are looking for your next career move, please read on.

A teacher took a stroll through the virtual job hood,
A child saw the teacher and the teacher looked good.
"Where are you going to, kind, friendly face?
Come play with me, I bet you can race!
I bet you can share, sing songs and play games,
I bet you can wipe noses, tell stories and learn names
I bet you are smiley and clever and helpful and fun,
I bet you can help me to count, listen and run!"
"It's frightfully nice of you child, but no.
I'm looking for a job where I can grow."
"Grow? What's grow?"
"Grow - why didn't you know?
I want to train, to inspire, to learn,
I want to motivate, be challenged and earn,
I want to have impact wherever I go."
"Silly old teacher, don't you know?
There is no such place as Daisy Nursery, so....
Fill out a form, come meet us and play,
It sounds like the perfect job for you - what do you say..?"

If this quick little poem made you laugh (and we need a laugh after the year we've all had!) please do get in touch and we will send you more information about the role, with a full job description and application form.

You can email me, Vicky, on [email protected] or call our head office on 01252 328940. I look forward to hearing from you, interviews will not be in rhyme, I promise!

Sunshine Daisy is located in a beautiful listed building, once a priory, surrounded by farmland and fields, animals and nature. The old farmhouse has been beautifully restored to suit a modern nursery, with suites full of character as well as practicalities. Our resources are second to none and no expense is spared in making our environments special for our children and colleagues. Outdoors we are fortunate to have a large, private car park on site; and two well equipped gardens overlooked by horses. The right person will be enthusiastic, energetic, passionate about outcomes for young children and be able to form close bonds with young children and their parents. This is a good role for someone looking for a new challenge in a small and outstanding environment, where your individuality and passion for early years is celebrated.

Your role will be to support your room leader and colleagues with all aspects of nursery care; each child is treated as an individual and you will be key person to several children teaching, observing and assessing their next steps in relation to the EYFS using our tablets and bespoke online learning journeys. You will be expected to set up activities that invoke awe and wonder, to provide nurturing and loving safe spaces for the children in your suite, and you will need to meet every basic need including feeding, changing nappies, and keeping your environment clean and tidy.

If you hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years and know your EYFS from your COEL, we would like to meet you!

The role is full time, 40 hours a week, with a starting salary of £19,211.40 per annum. This starting band increases yearly in March and there is opportunity to increase your salary further at each annual appraisal. We know how important the right colleagues are in delivering our vision for excellence in early years and we work hard to value them.

We offer a range of competitive benefits including but not limited to; fully paid lunches and rest breaks, company pension scheme, performance related bonuses, seven weeks paid holiday, flexible shifts enabling you to balance your work/life commitments each week and a place to store your much needed wellie boots.

If you would like to apply for this role, please send a recent CV to [email protected]. As part of our safer recruitment policy we will ask you to complete an application form and due to current circumstances, our first round of interviews will be virtual using Zoom. Thank you for your interest.
