Congratulations to Olivia who smashed her grade 8 singing exam with DISTINCTION!

Looking for good singers (16+) to put together a small vocal group of female singers. I’m unable to commit to regular rehearsals so rehearsals would be infrequent and most likely during school holidays. Just for fun. Drop me a message if you’re interested!

It's been great to get back into some music teaching during the summer break! Here is Olivia completing a plank to improve her understanding of breath control when singing her grade 8 pieces.

This technique supports pupil understanding of how to use the muscles and diaphragm effectively (and correctly) to create a well-supported sound. Whoever said that singing was easy?! You need to work those muscles hard to create a good sound! #harshteacher #getyourmoneysworth 05/07/2017

I'd give my life for you - Liv D.

I have been very quiet on here recently due to completing my teacher training year. Very sadly, I have had to cut down on my private teaching, so today was a wonderful opportunity to spend the morning with a grade 8 pupil and do what I absolutely love!!

Here is a clip of Liv rehearsing her grade 8 piece "I'd give my life for you" ready for November. Please excuse the dodgy piano parts - due to lack of practise, I've become a bit rusty! Grade 8 pupil performs "I'll give my life for you" from Miss Saigon

Another benefit to music lessons! Since September, this is the fifth one to be completed for my students. However, for a good report, payment in cake is a must!

[12/21/16]   A fantastic end to the term. Congratulations to Olivia Dalby, Jodie Livett and Issy Wood who passed their grade 5,6 & 7 flute/singing exams with distinction/merit. A super proud teacher! Merry Christmas everyone!!! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

When your pupils only come to see your animals...this is a frequent occurrence!

[10/01/16]   A lovely afternoon helping the soon-to-be Mrs Johnson choose her wedding music!

Due to a slight change of work this year I have been very quiet on this page. Please remember the many benefits that music tuition can provide especially during a child's early years development...

Music lesson madness. Even my dogs love it!

Really pleased with the Summer Term exam results. Once again, there was 100% pass rate with some fantastic feedback. The last batch of certificates were received today, so all of these will be passed on in September.

Suzi had a wonderful time in Lorna's music lesson today and was incredibly attentive when learning about duple, triple and quadruple time signatures! Thanks for the pics Tracey!
I still have some availability for summer holiday lessons before schools go back next month. Autumn exams are already fast approaching. Please contact me directly for availability.

CONGRATULATIONS to singing and piano pupil Amelie who was awarded the Scholarship Award for her drama group's production of Phantom of the Opera and what a brilliant show it was!

[06/09/16]   I am so proud and amazed at how hard the exam children have worked over the half term break. For singers, I always bang on about how important it is for children to "know their words", but this can make such a huge difference to their musical interpretation, communication, delivery and confidence on the day. Please keep up the wonderful work you are doing - it will be worth it! And thanks to the parents who have nagged and nagged and nagged for their child to practise...
After exams the main focus will be to have loads of fun preparing for end of term concerts!

[06/06/16]   Exam season is now in full swing! Dates and times for Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM candidates have now been issued. Please contact me if you have any queries regarding the dates or exam procedure. 16/05/2016
