My interest in the sport started at an early age watching Martial Artists such as Jackie Chan, Jet Lei and Bruce Lee, watching their movies inspired me to want to be just like them.

At a later age, I went to my first martial arts class and after that first lesson, I was hooked, wanting to learn as much as I could about it!

I achieved my first Black Belt, and 1st, Dan, in kickboxing after 3 years of training in the sport.

After achieving my Black Belt I started teaching for the” Lee Matthews Black Belt Academy” and worked my way up to Senior Instructor and Manager at the main academy. Now I have my schools, situated in Shifnal & Albrighton, I was awarded my 5th, Dan, in Sport Karate and 5th Dan Kickboxing in 2018.

My passions are contact sports I enjoy training in MMA Boxing, BJJ, Wrestling, Karate, Maui Thai and Kickboxing

I have also competed nationally and internationally in Kickboxing and MMA and achieved bronze and silver in the World Championships in MMA.

Now my time is devoted to my schools & students, watching them grow in confidence developing through their martial arts journey, is one of my biggest achievements.

Dear All,
I’m so, so sorry all, but I’m going to have to cancel classes tonight .. I had my second Covid jab at lunch time and I’m feeling incredibly dizzy and spaced out.
I really hate doing this but my body is obviously reacting to the vaccination.

Please accept my sincere apologies, I honestly hate letting anyone down.

Good Morning , I hope you and your families are all well in these strange times.

Last week myself and the club had the most terrible news. A parent, a major part of our Shifnal MA community sadly passed away. Mike Hill (Morgan’s Dad) was a huge part of the club and will be missed by myself and many of the other parents.
My thoughts are with his wife, Sian, and his children, Morgan and Imogen; as I know yours will be too.

Myself and Kerry (Kiera’s mom) have been asked to attend the funeral on Monday 14 December and we are both humbled and privileged to be able to say goodbye to a top bloke and to be able to support Sian, Morgan and Imogen. Kiera has been asked to attend the wake to support Morgan.

The family have asked for no flowers and would like donations to Diabetes UK and Sickle Cell charities. Please see link attached.

I know many others would like to have attended the funeral and the wake to pay their respects to Mike, however Covid has put a stop to that. I think a nice way to think of Mike and his family on Monday 14th December would be to light a candle in his memory, have a drink and think about what he meant to you and toast his memory.

Mike will be missed deeply by his family, he was an amazing gentleman. He will be missed not only by myself but many of you too I’m sure.

Taken far too soon. RIP Mike. You will not be forgotten; you leave a legacy ❤️

Good afternoon, well another challenge has presented itself in the way of a 4 week lockdown.
Since starting back in July I've had nothing but positive feed back from students and parents.
The classes have massively helped subdue the kids and adults worries and anxieties during these testing times and I'm determined to keep this continuity going with online classes via zoom and also through the private Facebook group which will be available to all paying students.
Classes will mainly be syllabus and fitness based and will help students still maintain the goal of progressing to their next belts which I feel is really important not only for their physical health but also their mental health.
Class and zoom details will be relayed through the private group and through WhatsApp which Iv started adding people (message me if you haven’t been added please 07976056605).If any students are not part of the private Facebook group then please let me know so I can add you. This is going to take me a few days to sort out and get my head around 🤣

This class is only open to 15 students (maximum, due to social distancing)
