Welcome to Dawny's Daycare, we are a private and independent children’s nursery located in Addlestone (Next to Chertsey Fire Station), Surrey.

We are a nursery for ages 3 months to 5 years, open from 7:30 to 18:30, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year. Our ethos is simple - To provide Healthy, Happy, Learning!

Activity of the Week - Feet Painting

Children love exploring textures with both their hands and feet so why not try feet painting this week!

For this activity you will need containers with paint (big enough to fit your child's feet in) and a large piece of paper/card.

Tape the paper to the floor so it is secure and then encourage your child to make a picture using their feet and the paints. See what masterpieces they create!

This activity will help promote expressive arts and design and understanding the World!

Then you will need a variety of objects to measure.

This is fun activity to do with your children; grab some magnifying glasses and explore outside!

Help your child look for bugs in their environment and don't forget to look under logs and rocks.

If you are struggling to find any, hide some toy or picture bugs.

This activity will help promote understanding the World, communication and language and physical development.

This activity is great for younger children, especially babies. All you need to do is make funny noises faces at your baby. See if they try to copy you and what other reactions you get e.g. laughing.

We have had a fantastic day celebrating Easter with lots of crafts and some Easter Bonnet parades, too. The children have loved egg hunts and Easter themed activities.

We have chosen a 'decorate your egg' winner and an 'Easter Bonnet' winner from each room and the winners are below.

We would like to wish all of our friends big and small a very Happy Easter, and we look forward to seeing you all back at nursery for more fun after the weekend,

Activity of the Week: Easter Jewellery

You will need yellow pipe cleaners/string, penne pasta, food colouring and zip lock bags.

To dye to the pasta you will need to put it in the zip bags with food colouring overnight and then place them on kitchen towel to dry for a couple of of hours.

Then thread the pasta onto the string/ pipe cleaners to make the jewellery.

This activity will help promote physical development and expressive arts and design.

Today has been a very exciting day!!!
3 eggs have hatched. The children have been checking on the trio throughout the day. We are hoping the children come up with some fantastic names for these cutties but if you have any suggestions comment bellow and we will pull names out of hat on Friday. 🦆😍🥰

Give your child two of the items (one heavy and one light) and ask your child to decide which one is heavier.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that on Wednesday we raised an amazing £335.50 towards the Bereavement suite for the Little Roo Neonatal fund. Taking us over half way to our £500 goal.
