It’s Week 3 of Tatty’s Summer Challenge and this week, Tatty would like you to paint/draw a rainbow!

Can you remember all the colours of the rainbow? Tatty can’t wait to see all your colourful pictures!

After you’ve painted your picture, why not practise your rainbow yoga pose? Lie on your back with your arms out to the side, bringing them together over your head like the arc of a rainbow and back out again.

What a challenging 18mths it has been for us all, including our little ones. My little business has just about survived the storm, and I am looking forward to a new term of classes in September to help support children's mental, physical, & emotional wellbeing.

I am looking for a lovely person to train up to join my little team in South East Oxfordshire, teaching much needed children's yoga & mindfulness in schools & nurseries.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
* living in South East Oxfordshire area
* driving license + access to car

With the easing of restrictions and the bubbles ending in schools, my teachers are looking forward to returning to more classes from September to give children the opportunities to support their own physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing.

🦚 This week we're going to be posing with a peacock!

🦚 Lie on your back with your knees in the air and feet flat on the floor. Allow your knees to fall out
to the side like a peacock's tail opening and shutting.

🦚 This pose is great for opening and stretching the hips and massaging the internal organs!

🦚 Did you know? A group of peacocks is called a party!

Can you touch your toes? Stretch, stretch, stretch and see if you can! Bending your knees a little will help if you are finding it tricky.

Did you know the muscles in the backs of your thighs are called Hamstrings and these tighten the longer we sit in chairs / cars etc throughout our day and this can cause back pain when we grow up.

Practising yoga regularly helps us to be more bendy and improves flexibility of our muscles - that's why Tatty is bendy, giggly, clever, and strong!

POSE OF THE WEEK 🌈 RAINBOW POSE 🌈

In this week's lessons, we're going to be pretending to be a colourful rainbow! This is a photo I took a few years ago of a double rainbow! Have you ever seen a double rainbow?

How to practice RAINBOW POSE:
Lie on your back with your arms out to the side. Bring them together over your head, like
the arc of a rainbow. Push them away back down to the floor.

BENEFITS: This pose is great for opening the shoulders and increasing spatial awareness.

🐠 Practise lying down on your mat and rolling around like a fish tumbling about in the water, making sure to roll both ways on your mat!

🐡 Did you know, fish do not sleep and they never shut their eyes, instead they just rest. When a fish is resting, it breathes more slowly. Can you practise lying still and slowing your breath?
