I am missing a few remaining Oliver scripts...can the following people please bring them back to school. If you have an issue returning it just message the page and we will see what we can sort out;

Eve Cox

(If you can tag any of these to ensure they see the message I would be grateful.)

[07/07/20]   This week should have been show week. Usually at this point we have taken delivery of the set and the lead characters would just be getting themselves ready for the band call this evening. We are still so sad to not be going ahead with the show but keep an eye out for a little memento that some of the cast have put together...

‪Still hoping more Oliver cast members are going to take part in this video! Get in touch with Mrs Kestell if you wish to be involved! #makingmemories #keepsakevideo #virtualperformance ‬

Just a reminder that we are still looking for Oliver videos to make this keepsake! Please, Oliver cast, get involved! If it’s a case of you not wanting to sing at home we can sort that out and you could just lip sync it so you can still appear in the video! I need to put a deadline on this so I am going to say all videos to be uploaded by MONDAY 11 May!

Apologies for the issues with SMHW for those having it... Here is the full information for Oliver cast members:

Firstly, can we stress just how sorry we all are that we had to cancel this year’s school production. After all your hard work we are truly gutted, but it is necessary at this time to take this decision. Secondly, we are aware that this isn’t a brilliant alternative, but we hope you will be willing to get involved so we can make a keepsake for you all!

What we would like is for all cast members to record themselves on video singing the whole of Consider Yourself from the safety of your own home. To do this you are going to need:

1. A phone/tablet or computer with a camera
2. The lyrics provided by Mrs Kestell so we all know everyone is singing the same thing
3. The backing track provided by Mrs Kestell
4. Permission from whoever is at home that your video is allowed to be used

Once everyone has recorded and uploaded your track, Mrs Kestell will work some magic to put a cast recording together. It is really important that the only thing to appear on the recording is your own voice (you will need to sing along to the backing track but with headphones in so we can’t hear the backing music – this helps with the mixing). There is an example video in the Google Drive Folder.

If you are interested, please contact Mrs Kestell via email and she will give you a link to the Google Drive Folder that contains all of the resources. You will have time to practise and then record your track and then upload to the Google Drive so the mix can be done.

We really hope as many of you will get involved in this – please feel free to add items of costume and perform as you sing – this will make the video much more entertaining!

We also hope you are keeping safe and well and look forward to coming together as soon as we are able.

Best wishes

Mrs Kestell, Mrs Morris, Mr Jones and Miss Jones

[05/08/19]   Performers needed! On 4th July we are going to have an Emrys showcase to show off the amazing talent we have in the school. We want as many people to be involved in this as possible! These are the ways that you can get involved...

Tuesday lunchtime - Singing Club in T65 - the singing club will be performing two songs - the second one to be decided and rehearse every Tuesday lunchtime - see Mrs Kestell for a lunch pass.

Thursdays afterschool from 6th June - dancers needed to perform We're All in This Together and Summer Nights - rehearsals will be led by Emily, Jasmine and Sadie and will take place in T65 until 4.15pm.

Or come along with an item to perform to an open audition on Thursday 23rd May at 3.15pm in T65 - there are a limited number of slots available for acts hence the need to audition. You must know what you want to perform in order to do this!

Please sign up outside T65 so we know who is coming - this is open to all year groups, including Year 11 and Year 13 if you wish to be involved.

Thanks all
