Well done to the staff of Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy and Mayzmusik Dance Studio on passing their Emergency Paediatric First Aid and Basic Adult Life Support with me today!
I may not have been able to participate in as many of the wonderful online projects that Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy/Voices Choir have done over the last year, but I am impressed by how supportive they have been to all their students over the last, extremely difficult, year.
All the tutors have had to adapt on the go while getting to grips with delivery of their classes online; speaking as someone who uses technology as part of the day job, I appreciate how difficult it is to deliver and minute meetings over TEAMs, ZOOM, and some of the other remote technology that exists for this purpose.
Everyone involved with Mayzmusik deserves greater recognition than I am able to give, all I am able to do is voice my gratitude to you all here - give yourselves a well earned cwtch, you all deserve it.
Anyone who is thinking about joining a choir, having music lessons, dance lessons, or any of the multitude of classes on offer should consider Mayzmusik Performing Arts Academy first; they make everyone welcome, there is only ever positive and constructive criticism, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
I, for one, am very much looking forward to returning to the studio in Abergavenny for choir, as soon as it is safe to do so.
I miss my choir family and miss the annual event in the Borough Theatre, which is put on to showcase the talents of what is the family of Mayzmusik.

Just wanted to say that today (9th October) I had an AMAZING vocal lesson with Dean the vocal coach covering for Emma-Jayne Morris maternity leave......today i sang solo for the first time since coming to mayzmusic (as I’ve never felt confident enough)......I’m not great with big changes and find it hard to build rapports with people due to suffering with bipolar disorder.....but dean quickly broke down barriers and made me feel as ease, a MASSIVE well done and thanks to mayzmusic for sourcing a great and talented teacher to cover for a bit

It’s National Teddy Bear Day! So let us introduce you to Mayzie Bear. Mayzie Bear has been coming to ballet with our tiny dancers for over 16-years. Many of the dancers she has taught are now grown ups with tiny humans of their own! Every ballerina knows the special poems we use to say hello & goodbye to her in each lesson. The industry has lost a true professional with the passing of the legendary Tony Bennett today. He was known as “The Best In The Business”, with his hits I Left My Heart In San Fransisco, and The Way You Look tonight now staples in the jazz singers songbook. Rest in power, Mr Bennett. We will miss you, but we will never forget you.

Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets at our Summer Showcase, we raised £187.05 for the charity. Presentations Week - Part One. This week we have been presenting our students with their Showcase Participation Certificates, and their Mayzmusik Performing Arts Awards. The MPAAwards are our internal assessment process which allows our students to progress in a low pressure environment (plus they get a personalised medal or trophy to keep forever). And they have thrived on it! We are so proud of them all. Part two coming soon!

Every student who performed in the Mayzmusik Summer Showcase 2023 will receive a participation certificate, and some of our dancers have been assessed for the Mayzmusik Performing Arts Awards whilst they were preparing for the show, so they have certificates, medals, trophies & plaques to receive. They have made us all so proud!
