Special Needs Tutoring West Wales

This is WONDERFUL! Well done Gatwick. Da iawn!
I love this place! Support it if you can
This is brilliant. Making motorbikes accessible to people of different heights. Fabulous
My blood is boiling! Like his dad says, "how disabled do you have to be to score full points?"
This hits home so much. I wish that the government and other organisations who are meant to help could see the every day life of some of my parents.
Great idea by I also think positive sharing can be as useful and effective
Love this, well done that manager
What a wonderful initiative. I'm sure it wasn't easy to provide a quiet corner in each shop but they've all done it. Wonderful.
Well who would have thought that focusing on certain grades would narrow the field? I suppose though that this could benefit many of my lovelies who aren't academic but show their skills in other ways. Let's hope so.
Wonderful photos!
Great price, fabulous centre, very inclusive

Hi, I tutor individuals or small groups with SEN in west Wales. I tutor in ASDAN, WJEC and other vocational accredited courses or short specialist ones.

Parents ‘not aware’ of private tutor risk

I've only been asked ONCE in all my years of tutoring for copies of my DBS check and qualifications. I have them in a portfolio and always say straight away that parents can see them any time they like or have copies. So many teachers are flooding into the tutor market and our SEN students are much more vulnerable than most for lots of reasons. Please ask for proof that any tutor you use is A:qualified in the relevant field and B:has a current DBS check and C:has not had a Misconduct Hearing. The latter are made public on the Government website. https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/teacher-misconduct#hearings

bbc.co.uk There has been an increase in private tuition during the pandemic but concerns remain about the checks in place.

Pittie Nation

Warm and fuzzy! I love how the mum compared the judgement of her son to that of a pit bull. Insightful. My 2 labradors used to come into my SEN school and work with the students. There is this natural bond which occurs and brings out the best in everybody. Charlie was the best reading dog, so patient. Paddy made my students braver. Dogs and kids, perfect! ❤️

The Odd Life of Timothy Green (2012) - IMDb

A touching and funny film about the gifts that being different can bring. I may show this to some of my students. ❤️

imdb.com Directed by Peter Hedges. With Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, CJ Adams, Odeya Rush. A childless couple bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.

Child Mind Institute

This is a really useful thing to watch. Lots of great tips with helping people with ADHD cope with working from home. The tips are great for all of us to be honest. Most of my students are autistic so for them home is home and school is school and never the twain shall meet. However there are things you can do to help your child successfully work online to the best of their ability. Little changes such as headphones can work wonders. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.

Special educational needs support 'offered after exclusion'

Sadly this has always been the case. We are now much more aware of conditions and needs now but we need robust assessment systems and highly qualified, trained and respected staff, not underpaid undervalued Teaching Assistants who would be paid more at Tesco

Thousands of new special school places announced

Looks like great news initially but I wonder how many of the 35 schools will be built within the 2 year time frame, especially considering how many hospitals were promised which were since shelved. New schools are needed so very badly, I hope my cynicism is misplaced

GLOBAL LOCKDOWN!🔒🌎 We've been separated from loved ones, had holidays cancelled, exams cancelled... EVEN LOO ROLL SHORTAGES!🧻

But we're finally getting back to some kind of normal... A 'new normal' and here at Tutors and Exams, we've been working tirelessly to help everyone affected by the cancellation of summer examinations!✏️❌

Therefore, we are delighted to announce that we will be freezing ALL of our examination entry fees for 2020/2021!❄️

A small measure, but one we hope will make things that little bit easier for anyone wishing to sit exams with us next year!

Flute Theatre

This is the BEST theatre experience for people with Autism I have ever seen. You can play along at home with their interactive videos all based on Shakespeare but with a very sensory approach. There is a focus on spinning, rocking, listening and responding to your name, reaching and facial movements etc. You can donate or use for free if you are struggling. PLEASE let me know if you check this out online. It truly looks awesome

Coronavirus: Youngsters encouraged to have their say in online survey

This is fabulous! The Welsh government are actively asking for the opinions of 7 to 18 year olds in Wales to guide their responses to Covid and beyond. The best bit though is that the survey is available in SYMBOL and PICTURE ACTIVITY form. This is the first that I know of that people with SEN have been included in government decisions in this way. (please correct me if I am wrong, I would love to be!)
