Parliament Bus Visits DAV College Ba
DAV College Ba was pleased to welcome the โParliament Busโ Programme today as part of its outreach to schools. Students had the opportunity to learn about the Parliament of Fiji through an informative presentation, an interactive question-and-answer session, and a visit to the Parliament display booth.
DAV College Ba sincerely thanks the Parliament Bus Team for bringing this valuable learning experience directly to our students.

DAV College Ba had the privilege of hosting representatives from the Australian Awards Scholarship Program, who visited the school to share valuable information with senior students about higher education opportunities in Australia.
During the session, the representatives introduced the Australian Awards Scholarships, a prestigious program funded by the Australian Government that supports students from developing countries to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Australian universities.

Due to reports on heavy rain and flooding across the country, the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro in consultation with the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO), wishes to advise everyone that all schools across Fiji will be closed tomorrow, Monday 2 March, 2026.
This decision has been made following reports received from the District Education Offices upon assessment of the situation in their areas to ensure the safety and well-being of children and the school communities.
All Heads of Schools and teachers are advised to remain in contact with their Management Committees and District Education Offices to receive updates and guidance during this period.
Furthermore, all HOS, teachers and School Management Committees (SMC) are also reminded to ensure that their schools are secure.
All Parents and Guardians are encouraged to ensure that Children should remain at home and avoid unnecessary travel and they should not attempt to cross flooded roads, creeks, or rivers, and avoid swimming in any rivers or flood-affected areas.
The Ministry of Education, through its Disaster Risk Reduction Unit, will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide timely updates.
The Education Minister stated that the safety and welfare of our children and school communities remain our top priority, and the Ministry will provide updates on when schools will reopen for classes. We all need to follow the official updates regarding weather and safety advisories at this critical time.

The Prefectsโ Investiture Ceremony at DAV College, Ba, was successfully held to officially appoint the new cohort of student leaders for the academic year.
The school was honoured by the presence of the Honourable Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Hon. Agni Deo Singh, who graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, the Honourable Minister spoke about the important roles and responsibilities of student leaders, encouraging them to lead with integrity, discipline, and commitment. He also highlighted the Coalition Governmentโs initiatives in education and how students can benefit from these opportunities. Addressing parents, he emphasized their vital role in guiding their children and setting the right priorities.
He further raised concerns regarding student behaviour in public spaces, particularly around the town bus stand, and stressed the importance of maintaining good conduct and living a drug-free life. His message provided valuable foresight for students, encouraging them to set their priorities right and remain focused on their goals and responsibilities.
During the ceremony, the newly appointed prefects, including the Senior Prefects, Head Boy, and Head Girl, were formally invested with their badges and pledged to uphold the values of the school.
The Principal congratulated all appointees and thanked the Chief Guest, parents, staff, and students for their continued support.
The event marked a proud and significant beginning of a new chapter of student leadership at DAV College Ba.

Western Fiji Secondary School Rugby League Competition
DAV College, Ba proudly participated in the U15 and U17 grades of the Western Fiji Secondary School Rugby League competition.
Although we did not secure a win this time, our students displayed determination, sportsmanship, and true team spirit throughout the tournament. Every game was a learning experience, and we are proud of the effort and commitment shown by our young players.
We thank our coaches, supporters, and parents for their continued encouragement. The journey continues โ stronger and more determined.
