As we draw closer to summer, the Kids English Club will be having a transition from spring to summer party celebrating the beauty of sunflowers!

Have your children (ages 4-12) join us for a fun evening STEM workshop of transitioning to summer!

The theme for this year’s party is Sunflowers, a very versatile plant that is quite popular in Spain. The children will participate in a STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workshop where they will plant a sunflower to take home and watch it grow.

Additionally, they will also be making a delicious snack completely allergen-free using sunflower seeds and playing several spring related games. Time permitting they will also complete an interesting craft activity.

On March 25 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m, IberEnglish is organizing its annual "Easter Egg Decorating Workshop'' for children ages 4-12.

This workshop celebrates the entrance of spring and highlights a tradition carried out in many countries, including the USA. In our workshop, the children will be decorating previously boiled white eggs. We will be using food grade dye to add color and unique designs to the eggs.

Additionally, they will be making Easter baskets to take their eggs home in. Each child will be taking home 2-4 dyed eggs.

Today, North Americans (USA & Canada) will be gathering around the dinner table to give thanks for all that they have. This holiday is a very special time of year when we take a step back to reflect upon our lives and consider all we have to be thankful for. More important than the traditional food of turkey, stuffing, corn, casseroles and pumpkin pie, the underlying reason is to give thanks and we all have something to be thankful for.

Deja que tu hijo/a o hijos/as se unan a nosotros en la celebración de Hallowe'en este año 2021, en el que haremos un taller muy singular de decorar y esculpir calabazas.

Y mientras, nos preparamos para Halloween, aprenderemos sobre los orígenes de esta tradición tan monstruosa y como se celebra en diferentes países, desde Irlanda hasta los Estados Unidos.

Los niños disfrutarán de unas horas llenas de diversión y actividad 100% en inglés. Como siempre talleres de calabazas, juegos, canciones, photocall y desfile de disfraces!

Los niños pueden venir disfrazados siempre y cuando estos no estorben su movimiento.

Job Description: Summer Day Camp Counselor

Location:
Northeast area of Madrid capital

Requirements:
Native or C2-certified level of English
Background clearance / child sexual abuse clearance and certificado de delitos sexuales
Legal permission to work in Spain -- no student visas
Demonstrable experience with children ages 4-15
Available to work June 28-July 30
Organized, proactive, team player, ability to think on your feet

Preferred additional skills (not required):
Understanding of food intolerances and allergies
First Aid Certification
B2 level of Spanish
Special skill (dance, yoga, theater, music, etc)

Description:
The #1 rule of the camp is to HAVE FUN. If the children aren’t having fun, we are not doing our job. With that said, our camp is an intensive language immersion day camp so all activities are designed with that goal in mind. We are looking for candidates who know how to not only carry out an activity, but also effectively communicate to have the children use their English skills to their full potential. Successful applicants not only know how to carry out these activities but also have the innate ability to have fun with the kids.

Each counselor manages a small group of children (8) and carries out the programmed activities which include craft projects, music / theater, outdoor games, food projects, science experiments. Candidates must be organized, responsible, and understand how to best use materials efficiently to prevent waste. The counselors are also responsible for cleaning up their projects and putting away all supplies so that they can be found by the next group.

We offer:
A temporary work contract with social security, and competitive pay commensurate with experience and number of hours worked. A fun work environment. All activities planned and programmed.

IMPORTANT:
Apart from their assigned week(s), all counselors must attend a mandatory orientation and on-site walk through Saturday June 19th from 10:00-11:00.
