TalTech Electrical Machine Group Electrical Machines Group of Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, is focused on the design, calculations, optimization and development of electrical machines used in a variety of applications.

Our researcher and former PhD student Bilal Asad won the 1st prize🥇 in Estonian National Student Research Competition in the field of Technical Science and Technology, PhD level, with his doctoral dissertation "Mathematical Modelling of Three Phase Squirrel Cage Induction Motor and Related Signal Processing for Fault Diagnostics", supervised by Toomas Vaimann, Anouar Belahcen and Ants Kallaste! Congratulations!!!

Today, EMG participated in Scientific Seminar organized by Poland Section of IEEE Magnetics at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

Professor Anton Rassõlkin presented actual topics of mechatronics field. Our junior researcher Karolina Kudelina presented her research about intelligent diagnostics of electrical machines. Master student Daniil Valme discussed generative design in prototyping. Dr Toomas Vaimann presented latest trends in field of electrical machines.

On Saturday, our junior researchers Karolina Kudelina and Martin Sarap gave a workshop "Driving of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle" in the framework of Young Engineers Program.

During this workshop, participants found answers for the following questions: What is an electrical machine and how to control it? What is an unmanned aerial vehicle and its driving principle?

As a result, there was an opportunity to fly a drone :)

Electrical Machines Group of TalTech University, Estonia, is focused on the design, calculations, optimization and development of electrical machines used in a variety of applications. Key research topics include investigation of novel permanent magnetic materials for use in electrical machines; design and development of permanent magnet generators for wind or small hydro applications; investigation and development of life-cycle based design and optimization methodologies of electrical machines and electric motor drives.
