Bridging the Baltic is an educational platform dedicated to promoting and enhancing cooperation, understanding and development within the Baltic Sea Region
It isn't just the shoreline along the Baltic Sea uniting Swedes, Finns, Estonians and Latvians. It is much more. We share the serene Nordic nature, we are envied by our world-famous writers and musicians, and we have a reputation of one of the world's most innovative tech regions, to name a few. Twists of history have once pulled us together under the reign of one king, united our merchants into the powerful league of Hanseatic towns and then... divided us by the Iron Curtain. By now the times have changed and people have moved forward, but the gap remains. It is time to ask why and tell the story of growing apart! To grow together again. Let's talk it out. Let's get to know our neighbors.
Mission: Bridge the Baltic

Whether studying, working or travelling in different parts of the world, each of us has our own place to call "home". Over the years Rami has grown to understand the meaning of home through his family's experiences. Watch Rami's story and let us know - what is "home" to you?
If you like liquorice, there is a little bit of Finnish taste in you. If you use Skype, there is a little bit of an Estonian tech geek in you. If you know ABBA, there is some Swedish music in you. If you love saldējums, well then you at least know one word in Latvian ;). But all in all, whereever we are from, we all love liquorice (or not), technology, music and ice cream. So let's share our love across the Baltic!
It's time to find out how much of a Baltic Sea citizen you really are. You are about to embark on a truth experience... If you just love “saldējums” then like this post, if not - share, because some of your friends maybe do :). A little confused – Google ;)

One of our fans Tom Schmit put what we should do to prevent the past from happening again nicely into words. "Give the past its context and understand what we as a society are doing to create the empathy that will prevent violence (on a society wide level) from happening again. To forget is to ignore. Santayana applies "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."" Like if you agree! Comment if not.
What would you like to see if you won a Baltic Sea cruise from Tallink?

Our past rules over us as long as we do not understand it! Reet shares her experience of violent times. What can we do to make sure the past does not repeat itself?
