Teaching prenatal yoga has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my yoga teaching experience so far. I love how the classes create community and I’m always so grateful for the updates I get from my former students after their babies are born, telling me how important of a role their yoga practice played in their pregnancy journey.
One of the things I hear most from my students is that they love how empowering, dynamic, yet appropriate my classes are to their needs. They love that the classes feel like yoga practice, yet we practice mindfully and with care, so as to strengthen the pregnant body, yet keep baby safe and healthy.
Regular yoga practice during pregnancy can help to reduce back and joint pain, digestive issues, mood swings, and other discomforts that may occur during pregnancy.
So join me every Wednesday 9:30-10:30 at the beautiful .berlin in Kreuzberg to create the space, movement, and attention your body and developing baby need.

MORNING PRACTICE ✨🤸🏽🌞
Starting your day with a yoga practice can have a seriously significant impact on your day! Just the actual decision to move, breathe and take time for you can give you a more positive energy, attitude and outlook in the day ahead.
This is definitely the case for me and I somehow even still notice the positive effects my morning practice has had on me in the late afternoon.
Over the next two weeks (September 11-23rd), I’ll be teaching a morning class 5 x a week, so you can join, practice with me and reap the physical, mental, and energetic benefits of starting your day with breath, movement, and awareness.

HAPPINESS…
I’ve been debating this post for some time now and didn’t want it to come off like I’m „tooting my own horn“ but, well, here it is. Read on…
A bit more than a year ago I quit my well-paying job as an art director to pursue my passion of being a full time yoga teacher. Mind you, it was not my first attempt…
The first attempt was in 2020, after I’ve been laid off from my 7-year long job during which I completed my 200 hr. YTT. At that time I was teaching yoga classes a few nights a week and was already sure that that’s what I wanted to do on a more regular basis.
Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic got in the way and I got another design job to keep the cash flow. While at that job, I got another offer which sounded amazing. I took it. It was HELL ON EARTH! And thank goodness!
At the end of the 6-month probation period, I resigned now FULLY sure that all I want to do is to pursue my passion for yoga and be a full time teacher.
But where would I get enough work?
Shortly after my last day, I met my dear colleague .hurbain.yoga to pick up keys for a sub she asked me to take and she said it’s possible to survive on teaching, as long as you’re willing to take on many subs and be flexible. Meanwhile, I’ve also emailed/called/contacted several fitness centers, yoga studios, community centers and companies to introduce myself and let them know about my services: Vinyasa, prenatal, business yoga in English or German… Also around that time my teacher and mentor .sky.berlin , , asked if I would be open to being added to the studio’s sub list - this was an honor to me!
Slowly but surely the sub requests /requests for private, community, business, and other classes started flowing in and I said “yes” to as much as I could.
I also got on the sub list of several other studios in Berlin and expanded my repertoire to Yin yoga as well.
Fast forward to now, I’m teaching about 3-4 classes a day, 5-6 days a week and I am so incredibly happy, grateful, energized, inspired, and hopeful!
Every class I teach teaches me more, I meet new people, I get new ideas, I am more inspired, motivated and humble.

Starting this Saturday, July 1st until end of August, I will be teaching a weekly all-levels SLOW FLOW Vinyasa class
17:30-19:00.
Whether you’ve been practicing for years or just starting your yoga practice, this class will be a great way to connect to the breath, the movements, transitions, and holds of the postures, which will bring us more presence and awareness to our physical, energetic, and mind states. Experience meditation in movement.
This class will be the perfect pace and intensity for a late Saturday afternoon to move into the rest of the weekend and might be the perfect „slowing down“ this summer!

Why I love what I do 🥰:
teaching prenatal yoga.
In each prenatal yoga class we take time to breathe, bring attention to the pelvic floor, stretch, open the shoulders, hips and strengthen the arms and legs to prepare for labor and the little one. We take extra time in Savasana during which I often offer a relaxing neck massage…
The reward for me in leading these classes is building community, giving the moms-to-be, or already-moms expecting a second child, an opportunity to take some much-needed time for themselves, move, breathe and connect with their growing baby.
Not to mention seeing their smiles at the end of the classes.
Of course, it’s an extra reward, to receive personal messages, emails and tokens of appreciation, like this one, from my students.
It is my absolute pleasure and privilege to be able to provide a bit of support to expecting moms during this very special time.

This morning I had the honor of teaching my first class (as a substitute) at .sky.berlin , where I completed my 200YTT in 2016 and where I’m currently taking the 300YTT.
It’s a very special and humbling experience to be able to teach in the school, where you yourself have been and are a student.
Part of why this opportunity is so special to me is that I remember how intimidated and self-conscious I was during my 200YTT to teach and then on top of it, IN GERMAN!
But this morning, I felt confident, did my best and kept my eyes on the participants in the room and online, regardless if I said everything perfectly or not :)
I’m very grateful for this opportunity and am looking forward to class tomorrow as well as future classes here - as student and teacher.

Feeling inspired, exhilarated, humbled, motivated and incredibly grateful after spending the weekend in the first module of the 300/500 Yoga Teacher Training at my “Alma mater” .sky.berlin. I had the privilege of receiving new and though-provoking input from my teachers & , which I’m excited to implement in my upcoming classes and ponder on in my practice and day-to-day life. Also met new wonderful people with whom I’m excited to be on this 2-year journey with.

While I’m excited to start teaching again starting this week after my knee surgery, I also feel a very strong sense of duty to do something to help the refugees arriving in Poland from Ukraine. Because I’m originally Polish, I feel especially inclined to join in the help.
For the foreseeable future, proceeds from all my classes will be donated to two organizations helping on the Polish Ukrainian border: Polska Akcja Humanitarna & Polski Czerwony Krzyz (the Polish Red Cross)
I’ve also set up a donations page on my website, where you can find out how you can make a donation even if you’re not interested in joining classes.

•••RECOVERY BREAK•••
Last Friday I had my scheduled knee surgery to stabilize the patella (Elmsley procedure), which means I’m taking some time off from teaching to let myself heal and recover.
In the meantime, my Wednesday class at 20:00 .studio will be taught by my good friend and wonderful teacher and my 12:30 Saturday classes will be taught by the lovely .
I hope to finally start a newsletter during my break, as well as am thinking of non-physical/online ways to stay in touch, like maybe a weekly meditation practice, so stay tuned for further updates.
For now, I wanna thank my students for the continued support and practice - I can’t wait to pick up where we left of next year!

This Saturday (06.11.21) I’m teaching again 2 classes in a row .
These will be my last Saturday classes for some time, since I’m away next weekend and then having knee surgery the following week.
Come join me for a stronger practice where we reflect on our sensations and emotions as we hold the poses longer and go a bit deeper. We will complete the practice with a short meditation.
