GOD, WE PUT OUR CANDIDATES IN YOUR HANDS
Go meta-cognitive
We leverage learners by equipping them with what works in our educational context to promote the use
Present worries amid ongoing corona virus challenge:
-Back to school for candidates
-Wearing of mask by candidates
- Maintaining social distancing rules
- Crossing from one region to another...
- Sanitizing😎😎😎

What next?
We plan to take metacognition to another level. We are not only going to end with strategies for deeper learning. Our next target is aligning metacognition and conflict management with focus on learners in the two English Speaking Regions of Cameroon. This new project will take a maximum of three years, God willing.

If in our little corners our little efforts are contributed...

NEW MONTH COMES WITH NEW IDEAS IN EDUCATION.
Guess what?
We keep going meta in edu🙌🙌🙌🙌

Gender based violence on the rise, despite so much advocacy.
Are we giving the right info?
Are they also ready to receive and be equipped to surmount challenges?
Is GBV limited only to girls?
Aren't boys also victims and girls perpetrators?
Was just thinking aloud🙌

MOVING ON
Despite the odds😂

A BEAUTIFUL DAY WELL SPENT TRAINING TRAINERS TO TAKE METACOGNITION TO THE FIELD.
HELPING VULNERABLE LEARNERS

EDUCATION LIKE NO OTHER, WHERE SHALL WE HAVE THAT?

EVIDENCE HOLDS THAT METACOGNITION IS QUITE CHEAP TO IMPLEMENT, HIGHLY CREDIBLE AND WITH EXTENSIVE RESEARCH.
Good morning
Coming from a conflict stricken zone, we are wondering how we can keep learners going on, and also help teachers remain focus. The best way is to equip them with skills to automate thinking. That is to help them go meta-cognitive🙌🙌🙌🙌

Just thinking!
There are many ways teachers and students can go meta-cognitive in their teaching learning tasks. To go meta-cognitive means to be aware of one's thinking processes. Teachers in teaching must learn and learners in learning must sometimes teach their peers. There are numerous strategies to facilitate learning. A teacher for instance in teaching textual studies must engage learners with the following question types to check awareness and comprehension of text.
Could you express that point in another way?
Could you give me an illustration? Could you give me an example? Could you give more details?
Could you be more specific?
Should we need to consider another point of view?
Is there another way to look at this question?
And so on😁😁😁
Have a beautiful day as you reflect more on going meta-cognitive🙌
About metacognition.
There are several reasons why students in Sub Saharan African countries find it difficult to excel. But with the countless number of reasons (poor infrastructure, unavailability of didactic support, poor teaching learning strategies, poor behavioural management, large classroom sizes etc) there is one major cause which provokes poor learning outcomes because it is either ignored or considered irrelevant. This is the absence of metacognitve practices. Research has shown that in lower income countries, helping students learn to learn highly boosts performance and generates lifelong skills and competencies. ( check EEF reports for contextualization).
Briefly, learning to learn is simply called metacognition. With metacognition students are guided to think about how they can authenticate learning. How they can be self aware of the way the learn . Developing metacognitive skills will help Students Set Goals. Setting goals puts you in the driver’s seat, giving you the power to transform your life or take a company into the future.” A dream isn’t a goal until you write it down and map out a plan to make it happen. This is where meta-cognitive practices come in to induce in learners the drive to map out their visions in life and succeed. With metacognition, success is not limited to the classroom.
We can design better strategies to create awareness in students and give them authentic learning experiences. we work on questions like; How they can be self aware of their learning needs? how they can self regulate/ self direct themselves?
How can they plan, monitor and evaluate learning? etc. Meta cognition helps Students Set Goals and work on them as problem solvers. There are many ways of building meta-cognitive practices in students. This concept is really not present in our community. To boost learning, especially now with the crisis is for us to expose this as a learning tool for learners. Imagine the numerous ghost town days scenario. How do
