The Catholic Mission General Hospital, also known as St. Elizabeth Hospital Shisong, or simply Shisong, is the first and oldest of the health institutions of the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis of kumbo Bui division in Cameroon.

For about 6-7 years, this community (hospital) has been living with no light, which has affected their operations drastically as we all know

𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀;

-vaccine refrigeration,
-surgical emergency,
-laboratory, and diagnostic equipment, as well as for the operation of basic amenities such as;

- lighting, cooling, ventilation, and communications.

Moreover, St. Elizabeth Catholic General Hospital and Cardia❤ Center Shisong is the first hospital in Central Africa that 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 (𝗖𝗛𝗗)

According to the WHO, 1.5 million newborns are affected by CHD each year, and more than 4 million children worldwide are waiting for cardiac surgery treatment.

The majority of these children (90%) could be treated, saved, and subsequently have a good quality of life, but unfortunately, in developing countries with suboptimal care or no access to care facilities, they are destined to die.

This is why we started a collaboration project with local communities to support healthcare services, access clean solar energy to meet the needs of the people, provide security, and save the lives of many.

During my training, at the Port Authority of Douala - Pad I worked across three departments

✅Logistics

✅Dredging

✅Environment.

It was an impactful training loaded with the following

1. I sharpened my communication skills especially in French as I'm not a fluent French speaker

2. Ironed my Microsoft skills as I was given projects to work on in MS Word, excel

3. Learnt how to use ultra-modern printer and photocopier

4. Went offshore for surveys (Seeing ships for my first time 🙄😉)

5. Had access to quality food at the restaurant where the launch is subsidized at 500frs.

In as much as I acquired a lot, I still faced some challenges.

1. Difficulty in communication as every staff was speaking just French.

2. The port Authority didn't meet my needs as I studied petroleum Engineering and would like to work at Perenco, SNH, Addax, Total Energies, or SCDP upon future collaborations with this amazing Mbongeya internship company coming soon.

3. I spent a lot on transportation. This was a very big challenge

Once again I appreciate this company's Mbongeya internship for giving me such an avenue to acquire sharpen my skills.

I didn't come from a family that makes people's dreams come true. Over the years, I have gradually come to realise how hard I keep grinding to build my company,

And leave a lasting legacy by making others, dreams come true.

Back in school, my friends used to call me "NASA" because I wanted to be an astronaut and a ship captain🚢 when I grew up working with the

National Aeronautics and Space 🌌 Administration is referred to as NASA.🚀

But due to my family background, finance, lack of orientation, limited opportunities, and mentorship

I couldn't get to the goal. But it's not too late; I still succeed in establishing a foundation in maritime transportation.

My drive to believe that one day, I would fulfill my dreams by letting others achieve their ambitions and holding them happy is what keeps me going.

It is inspiring to hear young people continue to dream about flying and becoming a professional pilots engineers and many others.

The path to a career in aviation is varied, challenging, and rewarding.

One of the most important aspects of choosing a career is to follow your passion.

Today, I would like to share a brief, lovely, and real story with a suggestion that seeing and experiencing certain things in life changes young people's minds and has lifelong positive impacts on them and their contributions to society!

There is this highly successful professor called Selcuk Sirin at New York University. He is originally from a village in northeast Turkey. Considering the limited resources and experiences in this small village, what he has accomplished in his life is quite an achievement.

When he was in high school, he was failing in many classes because he did not see the school's importance. At that time, his biggest life goals were to marry his neighbor's daughter and to open a small shop in the village. Considering the environment he lives in, this was the best he could think of for his future.

One day his father showed him a picture of some young people in front of a building. He was so impressed by this image, the way they dressed, the location, everything. He asked his father who and where these people were. His father said these are the university students at one of the country's top universities. And that one picture changed his life forever.

He took his classes very seriously, worked hard, and got accepted to the same university in the picture where only the top 1% of the students in the nation were admitted based on a university entrance exam. Still to this date, he thanks his father for that one picture he showed him while he was in high school.

As educators, it is important that we find ways to expose our students to real-life problems, phenomenons, and experiences so that they have the chance to find their passions in life.

"It’s all background experience and listening and exposure. That’s why it’s so important for people today and during any time to expose your children to lots of different kinds of things".

The Future Pilot Projectis a Time Sellers Company Ltd travel and tour service, in partnership with the National internship Company in Cameroon aimed at breaking professional stereotypesby exposing children to a wide variety of professions.

Majority of children in African countries, Cameroon being a typical example, tend to emulate and idolize people in their immediate environment that earn a decent living (own a car and live in their own house).

Most often than not, they dream of becoming or having an equally modest life like their role models;In Bamenda as case study, children tend to dream of

professions that their role models are into such as becoming a teacher, doctor, lawyer, banker and a minority have a vague dream of becoming engineers.

This project sets in to expose children to a wide variety of professions on a global scale and build the notion in them that they can become whatever they want to be, notlimited by their geographical environment, societal norms or beliefs.

This project targets children 5 years and abovebecause within this age range, a child must have learnt the basic things of life and is ready to assimiliate directly or indirectly with knowledge and cultures.
