On Monday, April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will occur with an expected peak at 3:10 p.m. in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As the peak time aligns with many of our school dismissals, we have made the decision to dismiss students around lunch time with safety in mind.
Thank you to our school communities for your understanding and support in keeping our students safe during this very unique event.

Thursday, January 25th, Trustee Saarinen enjoyed his morning at Woodcrest Public School as he was a special guest at their 2nd annual Woodcrest Literacy Day. Trustee Saarinen promoted his love of books with the kids by reading a fav of ours, learning a UFLI lesson with the kiddos and donating a book by a couple of local authors. Very appreciated! We added the book to our library collection already! Thank you Trustee Saarinen and we hope you will come again next year!
Thursday, January 25th, Woodcrest Public School hosted their 2nd annual Woodcrest Literacy Day. Open house for our new September 2024 JK students. Hope to see you Wednesday!
High school Open Houses are coming up 😊
As always, Mrs. Andraka and her Grade 1 students have been busy learning but, today was a very special day for them. Graduation day! Her and her students have been active participants in an amazing program called FAST Heroes; an engaging, hands-on, life changing and saving program that teaches children the signs and symptoms of a stroke. Twenty-one more kids can now identify the signs of a stroke and can take action to help a loved one if needed. What an amazing skill! Thank you to Keli Cristofara from Northwest Ontario Regional Stroke Network and Mrs. Andraka for the learning experience!
A big thank you to everyone who supported our 16th annual candy cane sale and gingerbread house draw this year in support of deaf and hard of hearing students. Over 1200 candy canes were sold 🎉. A heartfelt Woodcrest Wildcat thank you also goes out to Doug Boardman, General Manager at Select iCar who generously purchased a candy cane for every student in our school, giving each of them an opportunity to win one of the three beautiful gingerbread houses during our draw. Congratulations to our three winners this year. 😊
Just a reminder there is always someone there to help or listen.
Thank you to our Woodcrest Green Team for making sure our school his helping our environment!
Thank you Woodcrest Wildcats for your donations to RFDA!
