Iβm in the final phase of my nutrition coaching certification and Iβve begun working with test clients. Iβve noticed something interesting about their trackers: Pretty much across the board, my clients arenβt eating enough protein. Why is consuming enough protein fundamentally important to any nutrition program? Check out the link in my bio to find out!

There are many factors that determine whether or not weβll wake up feeling rested in the morning. One major component is our circadian rhythm. All of our hormones, neurotransmitters, and behavioral responses are linked to it! Check out the link in my bio to read more about why itβs so important. https://www.mindbodyresultsprograms.com/journal/whats-in-a-good-nights-sleep

I have never actively sought to become a teacher or leader of any sort. Iβm fundamentally an introvert who simply enjoys the process of learning in any form. Further, if Iβm endorsing something, itβs because itβs something I truly believe in. When something improves my life, I enjoy sharing it with others so they can also reap those benefits.
I discovered yoga in university. It was a fantastic outlet for dealing with stress. I returned to it often over the years. When I filed for divorce for the 1st time in 2010, I enrolled in a yoga teacher training as a means of immersing myself in stress relief. I began sharing my practice with others and the series of events that followed led organically to becoming a teacher. I love to think back to all the times that my personal practice resulted in improving othersβ lives.
The two years leading up to the end of 2020 were incredibly turbulent and nothing short of traumatic for me. I had hit a wall and needed time & space for recovery. I retreated from life for the most part. I used 2021 to reflect upon what had happened to me and where I wanted to go.
Looking back, I am grateful for reaching that βzero f*cks givenβ mindset. Hitting that wall was an incredible opportunity to reevaluate what wasnβt working. By setting boundaries and reconnecting with my intuition, I restored many of the things that were out of equilibrium. As always, this involved learning new skills and using new tools. This past year, I have completed a cognitive behaviour certification, a functional range conditioning certification, a functional nutrition and metabolism science specialization and Iβm nearing completion of a health coaching certification. I didnβt enroll in any of these courses with the intention of teaching anyone else. I did it to navigate my own physical and emotional challenges and Iβm pleased to report that Iβve had great personal success on both fronts.
Iβm still not sure exactly what my future holds. Getting to know oneself is an endless journey and Iβm still learning, but I do look forward to sharing the things that have helped me on this platform and, as always, I hope those things lead some of you down healing paths!

Getting out of your comfort zone can be daunting and it takes courage. We all have that little voice of self-doubt in our heads that reminds us we might fail, weβre not clever enough or weβre undeserving of our lofty goals. READ THIS NEXT LINE TWICE: β

Is there something youβve been wanting to do but are afraid youβll fail? Well guess what? You definitely wonβt succeed if donβt find the courage to try. You donβt need to have everything figured out, you just need enough momentary courage shut off the negative voices in your head and take the first step. β

Weβve all heard the old adage that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, so Iβll leave you with one more of my favourite quotes about setting an intention and having the courage to take the leap towards it:β

βWhen a human awakens to a great dream and throws the full force of his soul over it, all the universe conspires in your favour.β ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goetheβ

We hear a lot about the importance of nutrition and exercise in relation to our health goals, but other factors like sleep, relationships and stress mitigation are equally as important. In fact, they are the foundation for achieving sustainable goals. Sundays are a great day to reset and plan for the upcoming week. Take some mental chill time, hang with a good friend, set some goals for the upcoming week, move your body, and plan to have a great nightβs sleep tonight so you can have the most productive week possible! Making sure you practice self care is just as important as getting your gym time in and nailing your macros! Happy Sunday!

At the end of 2020 I was completely burnt out from a year of trying to keep a studio with high overheads open during closures and constantly changing COVID-19 restrictions whilst still reeling from personal challenges, which began in 2018, and persisted all the way through to the first lockdown of 2020. I truly needed some time and space to heal in order to protect my mental health.
I declared 2021 my year of no-stress and began to take conscious and necessary steps to protect that decision. I was lucky enough to be in a position to take the time to look at what wasnβt working and what brought me joy.
Once I was able to dial things back to the basics, I realised that interacting with and helping clients on a one-on-one basis was what really worked.
This year I have had the pleasure of being able to slowly and organically build my client base at my own pace while protecting my headspace.
I also missed having the time to learn. I have spent the past 7 months getting new mindset, movement and nutrition certifications that I have been able to put into practice both personally and professionally.
In retrospect, Iβm grateful for everything the past few years of difficulties have taught me. Check out my first blog post (IG link in bio) for a few of the practices that I put into place to help me get to a much better headspace and outlook on life!

At long last, my website is published! Thank you so much for your amazing work and creative genius in creating my website and to .photography and for my first images.
In fact, this website has been ready since March (Donβt even get me started on the saga with my backend commerce providers that caused the delay in its release π). I look and feel like a different person since the original photos, so you can probably expect a revamp in the near future.
But for now, please have a look. Iβll be posting a paddleboard yoga class schedule soon and Iβm taking new movement clients starting in mid-September.
