Yesterday was our third Mindset Matters workshop and our focus was on our mental game and visualization. The "stoplights" were introduced to create awareness of our thoughts; red being negative, yellow being neutral or transition and green being positive. The athletes humbled me with their openness to not only recognize that at least half of their thoughts were negative or neutral and we committed to being more conscious and converting the negative thoughts to "I can" and "I am" positive thoughts. The important piece is, however, that we are not trying to eliminate or "push away" our negative thoughts, rather increase our consciousness and "rewire" our minds in a way that positions us for greater success and happiness. What an amazing journey this is....
