EUNICE JONES Obituary (2025) - Hamilton, Bermuda - The Royal Gazette 28/06/2025

Tribute to Mrs. Eunice L Jones

Mrs. Eunice L Jones has been a member of The Berkeley Educational Society for 20 years, having joined in June 2005. As a proud Berkeleyite, she served on the Management Board of The Berkeley Educational Society. Her input was invaluable as she was a strong supporter of public school education. As an educator, she was passionate when it came to ensuring children were given opportunities to excel while learning. She took her role on the Managment Board very seriously always giving insightful comments during discussions.

Mrs. Jones was a reliable member of the Berkeley Educational Society’s Programme and Legacy Committee. She would always volunteer to be “on the frontline” welcoming alumni and friends and ensuring that things ran smoothly at events and especially during our anniversary celebrations. As a faithful and dutiful member of St. Paul A.M.E., she always reminded us of the connection between the church, The Berkeley Institute and the BES. She acted as our liaison with St. Paul when The BES held anniversary services of thanksgiving. Her daughter, Deidre, participated as a reader for the Centenary anniversary church service held at St. Paul in 1997.

Mrs. Jones will be fondly remembered as a dignified woman of grace and poise, having great integrity who always had a positive attitude and an enchanting smile. Her counsel to the BES was invaluable.

She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

Submitted on behalf of The Berkeley Educational Society, with our sincerest condolences.
