Warwick Academy is proud to celebrate the achievements of alumnus Gavin Manders, who recently enjoyed outstanding success in Trinidad, bringing home two gold medals and one silver from some of the Caribbean’s premier pickleball competitions.
Gavin captured gold in the Caribbean’s first-ever Minor League Pickleball event and the Open Elite Mixed Doubles, while also earning silver in the Open Elite Singles at the ANSA Open.
Congratulations, Gavin, on your success and for continuing to represent Bermuda with excellence, sportsmanship, and a commitment to growing the game both on and off the court.

For this month's Teacher Tuesday post, we are celebrating former Warwick Academy educator Elizabeth "Liz" Adderley.
Liz taught Physical Education at Warwick Academy from 1980 to 1993, where she coached netball and basketball, served as Head of Patton House, and, alongside Denton Hurdle, helped establish the school's annual Athletic Awards Banquet — a tradition that continues today.
After leaving Warwick, Liz joined the Department of Education as a Mentor Teacher before returning to the classroom at Gilbert Institute. From 1995 to 2001, she taught Physical Education and Science while also serving as Deputy Head of Gilbert.
Liz later moved to New Mexico to train as a massage therapist. Upon returning to Bermuda, she ran a highly successful massage therapy business for 20 years.
Today, Liz manages two Airbnb properties, is actively involved with the Garden Club, and volunteers her time at numerous charitable events. In her free time, Liz and her partner, Wendy, enjoy travelling, spending time with friends and family, and getting out on the water in their boat.
They also share their home with Flora Fluffy, their much-loved cat, who was discovered as a kitten on Warwick Academy's Lower Field during the week of Dame Flora Duffy's visit to the school .
