Hello (ex) Playtrium families, hope you're all keeping well :) I just thought I'd pass on some exciting news:
The Tasting Room is now open!! Conveniently located in the space where the Playtrium used to be, The Tasting Room is Bermuda's first premium wine and spirits shop offering the best in wine, beer, spirits, non-alcoholic and more.
In addition to the retail section, the space is outfitted with a tasting room giving you the unique experience of tasting before you buy. Their team of sommeliers can also help with the right selection for you.
For private tasting events you can add charcuterie boards or full catering. A great way to spend a night out for the holiday season!
Make sure to inquire about 'The Sip Society', their monthly wine club:) Check them out at www.thetastingroom.bm or call at 292-7666🍷🍷🍷

Closure Notice for The Playtrium
To our Valued clients,
After finalizing details with the Health department and learning of our new COVID-19 guidelines, we sadly wish to inform you that the owners of The Playtrium have made the difficult decision to close its doors for good.
As you know, The Playtrium is a social hub. We rely on customers, it’s a volume business, not the type of business that can be moved online. With the new COVID-19 guidelines, we must limit the number of clients in our facility to a ‘safe’ number that allows clients to easily maintain a distance of six feet apart from each other. This drastically lowers our revenue and it simply will not be feasible to remain open. Because of the uncertainty of this pandemic and not knowing how long we’ll all be required to social distance for, instead of keeping the Playtrium space locked up, we’ve decided to repurpose the space and utilize it in other ways.
Sadly, it seems like the key factors that set The Playtrium apart from other venues and made it such a great place for kids AND adults would now either be drastically changed or eliminated altogether. Our clients loved that we were a small, safe space with a strong ‘make yourself at home’ feeling. However, now with the new COVID regulations, our small space and our square footage is the problem. We can’t have the numbers we need to sustain the business.
The Playtrium will always be proudly known for its high standards of consistent cleanliness and attention to detail. Lowering our standards was never an option. It was always important to us that our staff loved working there just as much as our clients loved being there at The Playtrium. That was also part of our standard, that’s what made us who we were. We were a great team and that’s one of the reasons we were able to produce such a great product, because we really, truly enjoyed what we did.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful clients that have visited us and allowed us to create so many happy memories that will stay with us forever. We will miss you all and we wish you and your families the very best for the future!

HI everyone!
Hope all of you are keeping well.
Just thought we'd provide another update. We're still trying to reopen in September. We were reffered to another department within the department of Health and have just now finished a long email to them. (Would've had it done sooner but the computer crashed,) no need to bore you with the details but it's been a frustrating few days!! That's all sorted now so we're good.
Hopefully we'll have some answers shortly and be able to move forward in our 'new normal'.
Enjoy the rest of your summer, we look forward to seeing you all soon!

HI everyone! We hope you and your families are keeping well and your kids are staying active and happy.
Unfortunately, because of Social distancing, we do not have permission to open at this time.
Our Health Dept. Rep has asked us to give her some time to speak to her Supervisor, gather information for us and in addition, we have our own list of detailed questions for her that we need answered in order to move forward.
Believe us when we tell you, as much as we miss and enjoy seeing all of our Playtrium families, we want to take this time to make sure that when we do reopen, it's done with every precaution and it's done right, or at least to the best of our ability, for everyone's safety.
After speaking with our Health Department Rep, it has been decided to remain closed for the summer (keeping in mind that we have no choice right now anyway), and we hope to open in early September when kids physically return to school.
We hope you all have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you as soon as we can!
Please stay safe.

HI everyone! We hope you and your families are keeping well and your kids are staying active and happy.
Apologies for the delay in this update, we were waiting to hear of the new guidelines for phase 3. Unfortunately, because of Social distancing, we do not have permission to open at this time.
We spoke at length with our Health Department Rep yesterday. She was unable to answer our questions because we're in our own category, being indoor play and involving kids, and there are currently no COVID-19 guidelines in place for a facility like The Playtrium.
Our Health Dept. Rep has asked us to give her some time to speak to her Supervisor, gather information for us and in addition, we have our own list of detailed questions for her that we need answered in order to move forward.
Just to give you an example, we're pretty sure that if we can still have parties, (depending on the capacity we're allowed), we have to make a rule of no longer blowing out a candle on the birthday cake that we would be serving to the other guests? I'd have to stress to the hosts that they would need a separate cupcake specifically for the bday child, I'm guessing. (This one is common sense) but we need to know which rules to have everyone strictly adhere to, according to Gov't policy.) There are so many questions, things we never would've thought of before all this!
After giving this a lot of thought, even if Gov't allows us to reopen in Phase 4, we're also concerned about how things will go once they reopen the airport. Two members of our staff are high risk for this virus, as are many of our clients.

After speaking with our Rep yesterday, it has been decided to remain closed for the summer (keeping in mind that we have no choice right now anyway), and we'll revise in early September when kids physically return to school.
We hope you all have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you as soon as we can!
Please stay safe.

For those of you who had a party booked with us during this summer, we're happy to give you a later date if you'd like, however, right now we have no idea when that'll be.
Feel free to email us all concerns.
Stay safe!

Good Day Playtrium Families!
We hope all of you and your families are keeping well, and your kids are staying active. We thought we’d provide an update on our situation regarding COVID-19.
First, we’d like to start by saying how much we miss seeing all of you and especially your kids. We’re in the type of business where kids are always happy to visit, it’s exciting for them. Sometimes they literally come bouncing in the door with big smiles on their faces, or they’ll run inside, kick their shoes off anywhere and take off running towards the play equipment. That kind of excitement is contagious!
I know that I speak for all of us when I tell you the loud ‘happy noise’ we’re used to hearing all day, the only kind of sound that comes from the joy and laughter of kids, is what we miss the most.
If only we could take all that happiness, bottle it up and spread it around! We miss all of you and look forward to seeing you again soon. (That’s the plan, anyway.)
Regarding COVID-19, The Playtrium remains closed until further notice. It’s not likely that we’ll re-open until the schools open or unless camps have permission to run during the summer, provided we feel it’s safe enough for us to open at that time. Right now we’re taking things one day at a time and will provide updates as we go along.
Stay safe everyone!

To our valued customers:
THE PLAYTRIUM IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
We feel this is the best course of action at this time. The coronavirus is challenging with children in general, and even more so with younger children. The way in which COVID-19 spreads, and the way in which children play, in this type of environment at The Playtrium exposure would be unavoidable. We strongly feel that at this time it's best to take a proactive approach to this evolving situation.
Our staff are concerned about the wellbeing of our Playtrium families as well as our own families.
We are following the latest information from the WHO, the CDC and the Bermuda Government. We will keep you updated as things progress and notify everyone when we re-open.
Thank you for understanding, we hope that all our families stay healthy and safe.
