Another remarkable milestone for the CMMC MPO IFMSA Bangladesh. Resuscitate right: A hands on training workshop on CPR, The event was assembled with alliance of Cardiology dept. of CMMCH. The session had lead by Prof. Dr Toufiqur Rahman, Head of the department of Cardiology and Asst. Professor Dr. Mohd. Rumi Alam (Dept of cardiology) and chief guest, honorable principal Prof. Dr. Md. Zakir Hossain.

After the CPR program, attended by around 75 participants was described as informative and engaging. The presence of IFMSA Bangladesh President Sabbir Ahmad Osmani, Vice President Members and External Affairs Akifur Farhan and Co- Director Samiha Hasan added prestige to the event, highlighting its significance in the medical community. Participants left with valuable skills and knowledge in CPR techniques.

This very week Dr. Nowrin Aman, our Former National Officer of Medical Education (NOME), Chair of BIMSSCON 2016 graduated from University of Toronto in MHSc in Medical Genomics!

Few days back Dr. Zarin Maliha, our Former Vice President Communications, Former Director of Social Media and Former Supervisor of Registration and Communication of BIMSSCON 2018, won the best presenter award at the International Public Health Conference 2024 organised by Public Health Association of Bangladesh.

Also couple of weeks back Dr. Sayeda Nazmun Nahar , our Former National Officer on Human Rights and Peace and Former Director Registration of BIMSSCON 2016, presented a poster at the prestigious Karolinska Institutet-UNICEF Joint Conference on Global Child and Adolescent Mental Health. She also graduated in MSc in Global Health from Uppsala University last week as a .

There are 1.2 billion people diagnosed with hypertension according to WHO. Hence it’s a silent killer which urges early detection also because there is an emergence of hypertension called 'resistant hypertension', a condition that doesn’t respond to drugs well.

Hence with the motto of "Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer", marks the celebration of World Hypertension Day 2024.

Towards a change through public health literacy is the step towards controlling this silent disease.

Sabbir Ahmed Osmani

is from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College. He started his journey with IFMSA Bangladesh as a general member from his first year of medical college,then served as a Local Officer and Co-director of TSD. He successfully co-chaired the BIMSSCON 2023.

from Dhaka Medical College has been an active member followed by serving of the positions of Local Membership Officer and Congress Officer of BIMSSCON 2023.

from Sylhet M A G Osmani Medical College has been one of the most active and dedicated member of the organization. She has served the position of Congress Officer, BIMSSCON 2023 deliquently.
