একটা বিষয় অপ্রিয় হলেও সত্য যে আমাদের দেশে কিছু সংখ্যক শিক্ষিত মানুষ এখন পর্যন্ত ইংরেজিতে নিজের নাম লিখতে পারেন না। যেমন: কেউ কেউ লিখছেন:

উপরের দুটি নামের বানানরীতি, ক্যাপিটালাইজেশন ও বিরাম চিহ্নের ব্যবহার সঠিক হয়নি। আবার কেউ কেউ এই নাম ইংরেজিতে উচ্চারণ করতেও ভুল করে থাকেন। যেমন কেউ এর উচ্চারণ করেন:
"এমডি আব্দুল শামি"। (😂) আরে ভাই, ওটা আপনার নাম; আপনার পদবী নয়। আর আপনি তো এমডি অর্থাৎ ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর বা ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক নন। আপনি হলেন "মোঃ আব্দুল শামি। এবার শেষ কথায় আসি। আপনি যদি আপনার নামের বানান ক্যাপিটাল লেটারে লিখতে চান, তাহলে প্রতিটা অক্ষরই ক্যাপিটাল লেটারে লিখবেন। আর তা না হলে শুধুমাত্র আপনার নামের প্রতিটি শব্দের প্রথম অক্ষরটিই শুধু ক্যাপিটাল লেটার হবে, আর বাকি সব স্মল লেটার দিয়ে হবে।
যেমন: এইভাবে লিখবেন:
MD. ABDUL SHAMI (✓)
অথবা লিখবেন
Md. Abdul Shami. (✓)
সকলকে ধন্যবাদ।
বিশেষ দ্রষ্টব্য: এখানে উদাহরণ হিসেবে একটি প্রতীকী নাম ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। প্রকৃতপক্ষে এই নামের নির্দিষ্ট কাউকে আমি উল্লেখ করিনি। এরপরও কারো নামের সাথে মিলে গেলে আমি আন্তরিকভাবে দুঃখিত ও ক্ষমাপ্রার্থী।
