GETTING TO KNOW OUR STUDENT LEADERS

Hi everyone! My name is Leilani Richards and I am one of your Junior Academic Vice Captains this year.

A little bit about me ... I have 3 siblings, two younger and one older. In this photo I am standing next to my sister Aaliyah (on the left side), who joined VPSHS this year, and is a year 7 representative.

Some of my favourite subjects are science and instrumental music. I have been a part of the instrumental music program for around 5 years now. This is something I really enjoy and am passionate about.

Throughout this year I will work alongside my fellow leaders and staff, for many different events, and I hope to leave a positive impact on the school by the end of the year.

Hello! My name is 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, and I am a 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. I fill my spare time with baking, reading and spending time with family. I am passionate about writing, art and biology at school, as well as helping plan fantastic events for VPSHS. I hope to write a novel and become a zoologist when I am older. I enjoy learning about the fascinating ways animals live; how they adapt, their anatomy and their different habitats.

I enjoy helping and participating in school events and challenging myself. I believe, with this year's leadership team, we can make it a fun year and overcome any problems we face. Bring on 2025!

Hi, my name is 𝗥𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗩𝗲𝗮𝗹, and I am one of the 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 this year.
A little bit about me: I love reading books. Books have been a huge part of my life since I learnt how to read. Other hobbies I have are painting, playing soccer and playing instruments. I love being outdoors and camping. Camping gives me the opportunity to explore new places and have fun.

As to my personal life, I have an older sister in Grade 10 named Chloe and a younger brother in Grade 7 named William. I have been at the Media Academy filming events since grade 7 and it’s been amazing! During this year I would really like to achieve a couple of goals I have set for myself like helping people who struggle with learning and step out of my comfort zone and doing things I normally wouldn’t do. I am ready for the year this year and hope that the next three years of schooling can be great ones.

Hi VPSHS community, my name is 𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼, and I am honored to serve as your 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻. If you haven’t seen me up on stage representing our amazing school, you’ve probably seen me with my head stuck in a book or working at the local shopping centre.

In my photo, I am beside my two younger brothers Jack and Theo in Tasmania. Our family loves to travel, and I’ve been granted the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures. However, my passion lies within the psychology and medicine field.

Throughout my schooling I have embraced every possible opportunity to open up future aspirations for myself and endeavour to inspire others to do the same. During my final year I hope to get my peers excited about the future and create opportunities for them to work towards their goals.

Hey! My name is 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀, and I am one of your 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀.

Some fun facts about me are that I love playing netball and volleyball, I have an older brother, Logan, who also attends VPSHS and is in Year 11 along with 3 other younger siblings. I love Christmas, and my biggest dream is to travel around the world and see new places. I’ve been a part of the academic program for three (3) years now, I really love music, and I am a big movie/tv show person! I also consider myself to be an approachable and outgoing person that loves to be involved, so if you see me around feel free to say hi!

During this year, I aim to act as a positive role model, encourage school spirit, and create so many new memories. I’m really looking forward to the new experiences being a captain will bring. Let 2025 be an amazing year together!

Hi! My name is 𝗭𝗼𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵, and I am one of your 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀.

A little bit about me is I’m very passionate about the things I do, whether that’s being a producer on the VPtv crew, playing inter-school sport or getting involved in other activities the school has to offer. I love getting involved in as many things as I can around the school, and I’m eager to be able to be a part of many upcoming events.

Some of my hobbies are musical theatre and arts and crafts. You can usually find me planning ways to decorate everyday objects or listening to music in my free time.

This year I’m super excited to be a school captain, and I hope I can bring many new fun activities to the school, so that everyone can feel at home at VPSHS and have a sense of belonging among their classmates. I can’t wait to see what the year ahead holds.

Hi, I’m 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗸𝗮 (left side in photo) alongside Savannah as one of your 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱!

I have been playing netball for eight years, including representative netball and for the QLD Māori team. I love all types of sports, going to the beach, as well as camping.

My favourite subjects would have to be Physical Education, Sport and Recreation and English. I also enjoy socializing with friends and bringing people together through sport.

As a senior sports captain this year, my goal is to ensure students are participating in sports and most importantly, having fun.

GETTING TO KNOW OUR STUDENT LEADERS

Hi, I'm Savannah Miles Jones, a passionate senior sports captain for 2025.

I’ve dedicated years to my sporting journey, playing club netball for eight years and representing Redlands for two. I've also been playing touch football since I was 13. I'm a proud supporter of the Brisbane Broncos and a huge NRL fan.

Beyond sports, I love exploring, going camping, spending quality time with friends and family, and spending time outdoors especially at the beach, which is my favourite place to be.

My goal is to go to university and become a primary school physical education teacher. In this role I hope to inspire students to get involved in sports, build their confidence, and encourage them to take on new challenges with enthusiasm.

Hi everyone, I’m Kobi and I’m honoured and proud to act as a student council member and one of the academic senior vice captains for the year. I’m excited to play a role in the continued organisation and production of events as part of student council that we’ve started off so well already with Valentine’s and soon to be Multicultural week.

However, I’m also looking forward to the opportunities that we can bring attention to or even directly offer that will empower students to take a better grasp of their education, both as they move through their schooling years and beyond.

A little about me… I’m big into the sciences and have a large passion and role in our school’s VPtv crew which I’m incredibly proud to play a part in. I hope to funnel these passions and connections into the initiatives I contribute to in leadership to make my final year a good one and one others can aspire to replicate.

GETTING TO KNOW OUR 2025 LEADERS
Hi, my name is Whitney Giles, and I am one of your senior creative industry captains alongside Sarah. I enjoy dancing at VPSHS and if I’m not at school you will find me at my dance studio. I have been dancing since I was 4 and I am very passionate about it. One of my hobbies include drama as seen through our school performances where I played Matilda in Matilda “2022” and Wendy in Perter Pan “2024”. I am a very outgoing person, and I love being involved, which is why I am very keen to be this year's 2025 Creative Arts captain. During this year I hope to achieve great things with the rest of the leadership team and make new memories. Let 2025 be one to remember ☺️
